I had never heard of these "subscriptions" before, but then I came across the De Agostini 1:10 Ferrari Enzo.

It came in 60 parts.

Interesting comcept, I wonder if you have to add postage for each part, then the cost could more than double.

you dont add any postage, you can actually go to your local newsagents and buy it weekly if you prefer to do it that way

my mate has been buying a collection of 1/43 scale cars that have all appeared in a bond film at some point, must have nearly 100 cars some of which were only in a film for seconds

On the website, there is a button, called "what do you think" and when you click on it, you are asked to fill out a survey.

One of the questions is:

"If a complete version of the replica DB5 were available at a price of £1,499 can you tell us how likely you would be to buy it?"

That is more than double what all 85 components should cost in total. Is labor in China that expensive?

I am pretty sure that the model is made in China.

In any event, it does seem like fairly decent value for the money. If they make Ferraris from that era in this scale, and in this price range, I will figure out a way to get a subscription here in North America.

I am not likely to by the car for 1500 GBP. For the same amount I could have bought (I bought) an Art Collection Auto type 35, which I feel is of better quality.

Stupid me sold the thing as well... Needed the money badly.

To be honest...I am not very impressed by the detailing. It looks if it is a 1:18 diecast. Also the roof looks to low ...imo the proportions are not right

For my own part, I'd rather prefer one of the diamondcars.de. to get the Aston DB 5, concerning the price. For both of them there will be a whole lot of work, to make it look like a model, which will fit one's needs. Looks like a blown-up BBurago to me. But seeing a tutorial to make this one's a real detailed one, would be a great experience.

For that kind of money one should expect more faithful details - of course we've said that since Aurora kits jumped from 69 to 89 cents. That said, correct or no the pancaked roof looks cooler to me.

I have had a very good look at this model and to be honest its not very good. it is as we all know just a scaled up 1:18 scale model. There are some bad faults mainly that some major components are the wrong scale. The mirrors for example are about 1:5th scale .. and there is no writing on the tyre sidewalls etc

it will look ok as a finished piece but isnt really worth any more than £250 as a finished piece in my view . my main concern is for the poor chap in Germany from Diamond cars as it is a poor copy of some of his nice work.

I've got the 1/18 scale version and it looks like the only diference is the lights work. For that much money, I agree that there should be more detail. If it were a kit, then I can see alot of the detail being left to the builder but the price would have to be way less.

Yes i agree.. i have looked into just buying it for the Body and making a GT version but the body has too many faults really and its easy'er for me to start from scratch and get it right from the start.

i'm sure there will be some on Ebay one day
