I'm slowly moving forward on the Deuce. Today I used styrene followed by smear to fill a bunch of holes (hinges, handles, tail lights) and built up the reveal around the interior tub. I've also mocked up the Duval windshield in prep for some modifications to the cowl.

The door hinge, door handle, tail light and trunk latch holes are now filled. The belt line around the top of the interior tub is modified and the cowl was slightly modified to fit the Duval windshield.

As I mentioned in a previous post, the TDR IFS does not come with steering components. They do provide an accessory rack and pinion kit and I'm useing it on this build, in a rear steer configuration. The front crossmember needs to be modified with some brackets to attach the rack too.

I just love this project. Makes me hungry to do a Deuce as well. Browsing around to get a kit.

The windshield its great!!!

I built some brackets to mount the rack and pinion. They still have to be shaped and molded to the cross member but the front suspension is now finished. The positioning of the rack gives me lots of room to mount the engine.

I'm often pleasantly surprised when I go through the old spare parts box. I'd forgotten that I had an aftermarket 40 Ford dash and when I put it to the Deuce body, its a perfect fit.

I forget where I got it, but I do remember smoothing it. All it needs is some gauges and switches.

Yup, I know I assembled the rack and pinion incorrectly for this and the Willys build. Haste makes waste!!

In my haste build some steering into my Deuce and Willys IFS projects, I assembled the rack and pinion incorrectly. This is how it should be assembled and this one will be used for mock up purposes on both builds. On most 1:1 applications, the boots are reversed so I followed that same direction when assembling this kit.
