I am building this project backwards, this evening I am going to start the license plate, because I've found my label paper.

I am hopefully going to start on the license plate, sometime over the weekend, as I am going to try self adhesive labels.

See if you can get the kind of stickies that are vinyl. It may make it a bit easier to do. If you can't get it, or you like this better, after you've made the paper plate, get a really thin piece of acetate plastic sheet, make a little frame for the plate and cover the plate with the acetate. That way, you won't know it's paper. Another way is to shoot clear lacquer Project Rat Rod/Shelby Inspired Hot Rod over the paper to make it shiny like a real plate. If you want to make a plate for the U.S., you can even emboss the letters from the back.

I am going to start taking the paint off the grille surround and any of the other pieces that will be used in this build. You can view my progress at http://photobucket.com/albums/a397/ratrodbuildup/

Rob are you still posting photos over at "photobucket"? if so you can add that link to all your posts on SMC so we can watch your progress.

Since I ran into a little tech problem I have a some time tonight to start on the boat tail T. All I need now is a cool name for it like Steves Emerald Deuce. :D Later. Daniel

    Hey Rob,

I didn't know you were building a Shelby-inspired hot Project Rat Rod/Shelby Inspired Hot Rod rod. My niece Jaime vacationed in London with Mr. & Mrs. Shelby this last summer.

I can't wait to see what you have in mind.

Wow Stevie, That's my hero in the picture with your niece. I wouldn't mind a chance to meet that guy in person.

My new rat rod project, will feature a supercharged flathead. I'd better start looking at my flathead book, especially the part which concerns the supercharger.
