Searching through some old photos. Here is a big deuce I would have built around 20 years ago. It is in need of a restoration these days though.

Very nice Geoff! How'd you get the front end down so low? Did you scratch your own tube axel?

Oh yeah !! That's one beautiful rod. Where does it need restoration? It looks great as is.

The axle is actually and adaption of the Big T tube axle. I cut the ends off where the radius rods would mount and bent up dropped ends out of very big diameter round sprew. I would do it differently these days though.
The wheels are out out an edition of the big T. The rear tyres from the big Deuce and fronts from the 1/8th Jag.
Restoration because these shots were taken a long time ago and this model has suffered a bit of damage over teh years!

It would be great if Revell A real old build sold the chrome steelies in parts packs for the price of a 1/25 scale kit. I'd buy a couple sets. Note too myself.... Give Revell A real old build a buzz and rattle their chain. l:l:l: :D Do they still make parts packs you ask???? Check out these items for the 1/25 scale kits: Item # 85-7251 283 c.i. V-8 engine and Item # 85-7254 Ford 427 c.i. V-8 engine. These kits are dated 1998. Now, I'm sure that they would have sold almost just as much parts packs for the the Big kits as the big kits themselves up to this point. How many times have you guys heard of folks wanting superchargers or Hilborn style fuel injection intakes for something different for their builds??... I think I said too much.

Now that I think of it, Geoff, I forgot the pics are old. I still love the old school type of rod you build. The stance on that is awesome.

If you want to go for about $30, Chrome Tech will "plate" your Deuce steelies. That's what I'm putting on my '34 Deuce.

A friend of mine has been has been experimenting with Alclad A real old build . Its not chrome, but if applied right its not bad. I've also seen it used in conjunction with paint, as in Alclad A real old build the outer rim and paint the inner rim....or visa versa. It would work especially well with wire wheels. Alclad A real old build the spokes and paint the rim, or again, visa versa.

Alclad A real old build looks great by itself. When placed side by side with "chrome", however, you can tell the difference.

Herman...fear not, Dan will be surfacing soon.
Bob...you're spot on as usual, Alcad is cool...but chrome is chrome....everything else is a substitute, there I said it. If you want chrome...buy the chrome. If a come close will do, Alcad is a good choice but not all that user friendly.
