I've been gathering parts & info to build this truck for what seems like forever. There isn't a whole lot available other than die-cast engines (aftermarket) in this scale so kit bashing 1/6th scale '41 WILLYS PICKUP isn't much help. Lots of scratch building was my only option until 3-D printing became available. Now there are some plug & play (fairly inexpensive) home printers available, more info about this as this thread goes along.

Anyway, I wanted to get this thread started so here's a pic of the 1/6 R/C car body I'm starting with.

The smaller Willys front end in the photo is a 1/8th scale piece for size comparison.

Don very cool to see this build here Thanks man and can't wait to see more of those 3-D home printed parts like that of Ron's. I think that Red Wagon of his would go nicely here in this part of the forum too.

Yeah buddy, so much has happened recently with this "home" 3-D printing thing that it's like "oh, crap" stuff that's been on my wish list for years (without having to scratch build 1/6th scale '41 WILLYS PICKUP it) is starting to show up affordably. Give Ron a yell, see if he wants to play over here.................he's a busy boy pushing his printers to the max and them some.

I needed a trans for this build to put behind the Hemi engine..........Tim (TDR Innovations) 3-D printed this rock crusher with a bell-housing to adapt to the engine on his home printer and "vapor smoothed" them. That's a 1/8th scale Hemi block on the left.

Yeah Gary, it's moving along & thanks.........still tinkering with the engine and doing a few cocktail napkin sketches for the chassis. Photos will catch up when time allows.

Thanks Steve, good to hear from you buddy. I think the last time we chatted was when you were getting ready to move. I thought about you the other day...I was looking thru my parts stash for a Deuce dash and came across this walnut goodie........remember?

Gary, Steve gets the credit for the dash (he made it) and yes it will eventually wind up in a Deuce. I was given a complete full fender "re-builder" a while back in very good condition. I plan on using it that Deuce when I re-do it. Can't use it in the "Trackstar'' Deuce as that body has been narrowed and there's no way I'm going to cut down or alter the dash Steve built.

Don, I look forward to seeing your progress on this build. As for myself...I have several projects I'm working on right now - some familiar and some not. I hope to share my successes and failures with everyone and will appreciate all feedback.
