More housekeeping.....don't forget to go back and read my previous post about the Chev. Don, do you think we should create seperate threads?

OK, lets bring the Willys up to date.

    BODY
Don is awaiting the arrival of the body. He will do the bodywork, turning it into a period correct pickup, with a removable front and a trick bed.

    PREP/PAINT
I'll do the paint prep and if we have a colour choice, have it painted.

    CHASSIS/SUSPENSION
Garey has offered to do a chassis, suspension and wheels. He is also involved in building a chassis for the Chev, so we may want to look elsewhere for someone to do this part of the project, depending on how Garey feels. I know Garey is talking about this with Mario so lets see where things go. Anyone else interested in this aspect of the build? REMEMBER, ITS GOT TO BE PERIOD CORRECT.

    ENGINE/TRANS
    Jeff has this covered.

    MISC
We still need volunteers for lettering, wireing, interior and etc.

The Chev already has a good start so thats where our efforts are concentrated right now, but that does not mean that we can't be creating things for this build. Again, thanks to those volunteers who have already signed up, but to all, keep in mind this is a site build so if you can offer something, post it here.

This is going to be an exciting and imformative build....Rick, just one thought from me here on the paint.....I'd prefer that these projects weren't farmed out for paint etc....A pro paint job would be dazzling I'm certain, but I think it would be better for all involved including the forum if we keep the build in house. Sending out parts for chrome or whatever is cool...but this is a Members Build and I'm sure we have a painter as member?

I will keep looking around and see what I can find. Only a suggestion, The 1/25 scale Willys pick-up from the Hot SMC Members '41 Willys Build Rod line of models is real cool and could be use for scaling up the parts to 1/8.

David, I know you mentioned your plate was full when I asked if you wanted to get involved in this Willys thing and I understand that all too well......but I would like to respond to your previous post and photos...SHAZAAAAAAAM!
The red pickup is totally sweet........but too street and current for this build.
The primered one is in my favorites file and I will be going back to it often as I work on the body......great find buddy, many thanks. So even if you're kicking and screaming you are now officially "involved".;) ;)
