2009 Street Rod Nationals

Hey guys. This is a reminder to anyone in the Louisville area that this weekend is the Street Rod Nationals. Last year there were over 30,000 participants! The show is for 1948 and earlier vehicles. I got a new memory card and 3 battery packs for my camera, so I'm good to take about 3,350 pictures, although I'm not sure if I will make it quite that long.;';;';;';;';

Not sure if I can be there this year. I have a hell of a sinus infection and feel like swarf. I have to see how I feel on Saturday.

Well, I'll take some extra pictures for you Jeff. Is there anything in particular that you'd really like pictures of?
Also, on a side note, if you haven't tried it before, a Netti Pot can really help with sinus infections, although it does take some getting used to.

Thanks Steve. No, I can't think of anything pics I really need but I really appreciate the offer. The Netti is exactly what the doctor recommended. I'm trying a few saline rinses but it makes me feel like I'm drowning. Oh well, I'll just have to get used to it.

Well, I'm back. And I fell surprisingly short of my goal of 3000+ pictures. I did get a few hundred though. Dan, is there ar easy way to upload large amounts of photos?

If you have a "Photobucket" or other photo site account, just put them in there and add a link here Steve.

Yes. Ive set the gallery to allow Zip uploads. Try about 50 photos at a time so you dont overload the server.

And thanks Steve, I wish more members uploaded to the gallery.

Thanks Dan. I finally finished uploading the pictures to my personal gallery. If anyone out there is a fan of Street Rods, and hasn't been to the Street Rod Nationals, you NEED to add it to your list of things to do! You simply can't imagine the size and level of quality on display at this show. This is the second year I've been. The first time I was blown away and heard reports that there were 30,000 participants. This time it seemed like there were even more! I spent an entire day walking the show and only saw a tiny fraction of what was there. Wish I could afford to go all 4 days!

I'll try and post some pictures in the gallery from the Woodward Ave. Dream Cruise going on in Detroit this week. I took a weeks vacation for the whole event. This year is going to be one of the best.

The Dream Cruise is a great show too. I'd love to see some pictures of it. Now that I live in Kentucky, I don't get to see it anymore. I lived in Detroit for about 6 years and didn't miss a show while I was there. I thought that was a big show until I saw the Street Rod Nationals.

I just heard on a local oldies radio station (WOMC 104.3) that it just started.... Wish I was there now.

At the Louisville show, it seems like every hot rod in the country is there. I've even seen some of the cars in the magazines.
