Hi my name is Marty Yaeger. new to this page. never posted before. I am building an Revival Auto Union Type C kit. I am about 30% complete. I have discovered that the rear frame cross member that accepts the rear suspension parts is missing. Does anyone have a broken kit that they would sell parts from? If not any suggestions other than buying a new kit for the one part? Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello! -and welcome!

Don here, I have a kit and could maybe help you. My kit was purchased "started" by another and some parts are in assembled condition. (poorly)

Could you attach a picture of the part needed? My kit does not have instructions, (personally I rarely use them), but any identification to the specific part you want will be necessary.

    Don,
ATTACH=CONFIG]37493[/ATTACH] I am having a hard time attaching the scan of the part I need. I previously sent it to you by email. I don't think you got my reply. Iam still figuring out how this website works. If this doesn't work. please send me you email address. Let me know how much you want for the parts.
    Thank you,
    Marty Yaeger

Hello, I have that part! strangely, the previous owner of this kit, reorganized all the parts into some fancy plastic bins, which are surprisingly difficult to open.

Anyway, i have what you've indicated as "missing"

    I'll PM you further.

I can remember those old metal Revival kits made by Casadio back in the eighties.
I think that certain ones came with real wire wheels which was a first back in those days.
Besides the Auto Union I think they made a Mercedes 163 and some other vintage F1 racers with wire wheels too.
Also they made a Bugatti Type 35 with the narrow radiator shell I seem to remember.
I have a feeling that some of the Casadio Revivals F1 cars were re kitted as conventional plastic kits later on.
Perhaps someone can enlighten me about the scale, as I think that they were a bit bigger than 1/24th and maybe were in 1/20th scale.

It's a 1/20 scale model. I have discovered that nothing fits well. I have had to file and fit many of the pieces. I have the engine done and have gotten the front suspension together. Who ever thought that you could get those tiny spring in place had rocks in their head. Looks good in the poor instructions. Has anyone else had difficulty putting one of these together? It does however have very nice-looking wire wheels.

    Thanks to the feedback Marty.
I thought that the scale was 1/20tb.
Those old Casadio kits had a reputation for poor parts fit.
After persevering with it you will probably have a nice model to be proud of.

Yes! do not lose faith. They are poor fitting kits, and the miniature screws are enough to drive you insane, take care to not lose those!

But in the end, they do look pretty nice! The front grill on that kit is especially nice. (Though the vertical "bars" had lightening holes drilled into them!)

I hope you've received your parts? -I've been busy at my day job, and then a cold, so I haven't given much thought to anyone else. Sorry.

I would like to post a picture that might be of interest to you and the forum?

Revival Auto Union Type C Kit Parts-img_5647-2-jpg

It is from the back cover of a now old book about the Auto Union V16 Supercharged cars. -A pretty good reference, if you're looking for one.

Of interest to the "International" forum, are the coins. I can find no reference to the picture in the text, the picture looks to be of a type C cockpit, and the coins were no doubt souvenirs of one of the drivers? The top right-hand coin is a now "Old " Buffalo Nickle, from here in the U.S., the top left might be a Mercury dime? Any guesses to the rest?

I have never seen this picture anywhere else. Don't even know who the driver was.

    Again, any guesses?

I won't give up on it. It has become more of a challenge for me.
