      Hello everyone my name is Marek I am 34 years old, couple of years ago I started flying RC planes but what I liked about this hobby was building them from scratch. Every since I remember I was interested in motorbikes and I would love to have a go at building one at 1/4 scale from scratch.

      Welcome, and what kind or time of bike? I have been collecting info on several myself, Honda CB77, a Vincent Rapide, Munch Mammoth, . . .

      Hi Don yes I am familiar with Pere. I would like to build a board track racer similar to one in my avatar or a Flying Merkel, Cyclone but first will need to gather tons of info and technical data.

      OK! So we share an interest in board-track racers!

      Do you have a copy of the June 1993 issue of Motorcycle Collector? That issue has a special article about the Flying Merkel, and it has an excellent spread of pictures.

      There is a copy on ebay right now for $6.00

      Glen English? (he was also a racer). - Some very nice models, 1/4th scale, completely from scratch, made in limited runs for sale.

      Yes, Glen's are very decent but I found his engine detail work a bit sloppy (very uneven heat sinks, crooked shifter rods) especially for 1:4 and for a $15,000 AUD cost...surprised they are production models. Tarrago's work is mostly one-off, yet his castings look the more professional; texture or "grain" of the crankcases is just superlative, his carburettor bodies making me very introspective about my own efforts.
