You have to check this eBay item out. It doesn't get more 60's than this. The pics are great for research too.

At first glance it looks 60's but if you'll notice it has an aluminum Super Bell front axle, disc brakes, automatic transmission, radial tires, new era mag wheels, new era leather interior ,tilt steering wheel, braided fuel lines, etc. You should not use this car as a "period perfect" example for your model car.........
Real hotrods have 3 pedals.,bias ply bigs and littles, Halibrand rear ends ,a 4" stroked flathead and absolutely NO BILLET ALUMINUM....See mine below.

I knew it had all the modern parts and I knew that it was not a period correct restoration from the start. I'm basically referring to it as 60's style with the wide whites, cheaters, yellow paint and the mag type wheels. As far as the research part, you take out of it what you want and leave the rest. The point I was trying to make was that it was a real beauty of a deuce and I thought the membership would enjoy the pics. You have to appreciate that.

You seem upset. My reply was somewhat tongue-in-cheek, hence the smiley faces. I'm 62 years old and I've been a hotrod owner every day of my life since 1960.I wasn't trying to upset, nor embarass you.I certainly apoligize if I did..........Mike

Oh no, I wasn't upset at all. You made a good point and I didn't want anyone else to think that was a period piece either. I just couldn't resist putting that one on the site. I really love that deuce you have and I've used some of the pics for past research. No need to apologize for anything.![]()

Hee, hee....let's call this a friendly debate. I think the Deuce that Jeff posted is one sweet ride, besides it's a steel car not plastic. I have no use for all that billet on a rod, but hey, to each his own. It's more of a modern "retro rod" in my mind. It's what they are building these days and one of the reasons I got out of the hotrod biz.
I have to give the builder(s) credit for a well designed and constructed street rod, but like Mike, us ol' timers are pretty set in our ways. We must have been doing something right as those "old" hotrods are still being copied today.

Resto Rod, that's the term I should have used. I guess I was just looking at the superficial detail. I should have looked at the pics more carefully and seen all that billet and junk.I have broken the code of the Old School and my faux pa shall not go on unpunished.
Therefore, as a moderator of this illustrious site, I am going to impose a stiff punishment on myself and order myself into the corner for the weekend. Oh wow, there's some pizza left from the last time I was here. I'll be sitting right here if anyone needs me. Anyone seen my hobby knife
?

Guido, I think you're right. I just found my hobby knifeand I tried to cut off a piece of the pie. I broke my knife on the pizza. Besides, I think I saw one of the olives move. Anybody got a phone book? Who wants pepperoni?
