I would just like to introduce myself, I am David, actually from the UK, but having lived and worked in Spain for a great many years I would classify myself as "slightly confused".
As a modeller I have always been drawn to ships, with a smattering of aircraft and even fewer cars, the rest of my time being filled with full size automotive projects (work and play). Recently though I have found myself drawn towards large scale vintage and classic car models, and am currently looking at a large box containing an Airfix 1/12 Bentley, with a strange urge to convert it into a long chassis 3 litre Gurney Nutting tourer, I fear the model car madness has already taken root.....
Better finish HMS Dreadnought first, but I do have a 1:1 Greetings from sunny Barcelona set of the original Bentley chassis drawings !!! actually I think the madness has just taken over.

    Cheers

    Hello David!

What scale Dreadnought? I've always wanted to see the Nelson or Rodney done large. - And in what material? And another "Blower"? I myself have half heartedly started that one as an 1/8th, in brass, but after the model A Ford, that I'm planning, a short WB Bentley, or the Birkin Single seat maybe? I've been researching and photographing and planning for either one for years! -Are you anywhere near Mr. Wingrove? Somewhere in Spain? Or? in Barcellona? That's where Mr. Manuel Olive' Sans, lived and worked. If your not familiar with these names I do suggest that you search them.

    Cheers!

    Hi Don,
Its only a little Dreadnought unfortunately (1:350), a bit of plastic therapy before something more serious. Talking about serious a 1:8th scale Bentley sounds a seriously fantastic project, the real ones are pretty hefty cars, I could imagine one in brass at that scale would be quite a handfull.
I certainly know of Wingrove and Manuel Olive Sans, I have a book be the former featuring that fabulous tulipwood Hispano Suiza he built, not sure where he lives, probably a bit further South than here, I really must clear my bench and get on with this Bentley !!!!!

    Cheers
