Melting temp is just under 400* (375 +/-) so you need to be careful. To answer your question directly, yes you can solder it but its tricky.

First try a test on the back underside to make sure the solder your using will take. The material is mostly tin so most lead based solders should work fine. I would try something with a very low melting temp to start. Also use a heat sink on both sides to reduce radiant heat into the rest of the part.

Don't bother with silver solder I'm sure it would work but the temp range concerns me.

One last thing. As with welding aluminum it goes from a solid to liquid in about 1 second so be patient and take your time.

There is a pewter solder that melts at 300 degs that is best for soldering pewter.

I personally would try JB-Weld since I'm likely to overheat and melt the frame into a blob.

Check in the MicroMark catalog there is a silicone resin A question about pewter. formulated for metal casting A question about pewter. . Also keep in mind that you will need to use talc powder in the mold before casting A question about pewter. into it and it helps the pre heat, or do a couple of test casts to warm up the mold to get quality parts. They offer just about everything you would need to cast metal, even a how to booklet.
