A pair of oldtimers.

Found these going through my boxes.

The Hudson Miniatures is mostly wood (all pieces not shown) with a few plastic parts. All plastic shown. It has Copyright 1949 on the box. It was origanally sold from the Museum Mart at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. It has $2.50 written on the bottom. I can't say for sure if that's the original price.

The Revell is all plastic and has a copyright of 1953. Original price .89.

Cool stuff Ron.....let me suggest that you put together a comprehensive list including your asking prices, perhaps an entire collection or group prices. Ordinarily I would suggest that you put your list in the classified section as they items for sale.......but that's up to Dan (administrator). That old mostly wood Hudson kit is a collectible, love it.

My problem is figuring out a price.

For instance: I got a 1/24th Bugatti Type 50. I saw a program (Chasing Classic Cars) where they found a Type 57 in a garage. Been sitting there since the 60's. Sold at auction for $750,000.00.

So I'm thinking a 1/24 Bug should go for 750,000/ 24 or $31,250.00. Can't get any buyers to see it my way.

That's definitely a treasure. It's nice to see cars from the dawn of the auto age. Look how far we've come in just over 100 years.

About the scales:

Reading the instructions for the wood kit shows 3/4 scale or 1/16th.

The plastic kit wheels measure 1.05 OD. I'm guessing a 1911 Rolls-Royce had tires about 32" in diameter making the kit 1/32.
