I kind of felt this was going to happen with the tumor and all. They say this kind of thing comes in 3's. First Art Arfons, then Boyd, then Lil John. Let's hope we don't have any more of this for a while.

Jeff Healey!!!! What happened?? I thought he was a lot younger than me. He was a durn good player. Also what's happening in this world?? So many of our heros have gone. Are we getting that old so fast??

Jeff was 41 at the time of his death. He had cancer his whole life. It took his eyesight when he was 1 year old. And from what i have read last year it came back went into his lungs and legs. I forgot with every one else dying last week Buddy Miles passed. Jimi H.has got his favorite drummer and pal with him now. Can you guys imagine the 3 way jam thats goin on now! Jeff, Stevie Ray and Jimi ! holly cow!
Man Im sorry to see Lill' John go, anyone who can build an Indy Car in his garage and qualify it for the 500 is a GOD! About the only billet monster that I care about, RIP John.
Also being a Blues FREAK I am very sad to see Jeff Healy go. This leaves a very big hole in music, I went to see Roadhouse at the movies when it came out only because he was in it! What a legend, blind, seated and playin the Blues. One of the blackest white men of all time.
Doc.
Proud to have served.
Wondering, WHY ME? since 1972.
Being a musician myself, I know exactly what you mean with your last line Doc. Normally as a moderator, I would have to remove it to make sure it didn't offend anyone., but as a musician loving both jazz and blues, I see it very differently which is why I left it in. For many of you guys who may not be musicians or blues lovers, this is actually a huge compliment used much the same way they did for Elvis when he made it big. Musicians like myself work very hard to be able to play the music they love in a meaningful and authentic way. I've been playing jazz guitar for 40 years and I haven't even come close. Jeff Healey was about as authentic a blues man as authentic can be, as much as Buddy Guy, B.B King and Howlin' Wolf. It's a very, very good thing.
