Ever since I shut down The Collection at Carriage House, I've wanted to open up a new web site. I've finally gotten around to it and you can see it at www.scalecargarage.com

My new site features thousands of photographs of The Satin Doll, the Ferraris and my most recent project - The Alfa Romeo 8C2300. There are photos detailing every aspect of the builds including scratch fabrication and design. I also included lots of how-to posts and reference photos.

Starting with my next project, i'll be blogging every day from my bench. The "Current Project" will get updated constantly for those of you who want to follow along with the build. There is also a robust search engine so if you want to see a specific post about anything from upholstery to exhaust manifolds to magnetos, you can find it. There is also a selection of tags that you can use to zoom in on any particular aspect of a build.

I tried to create the site so that others could use it as a reference during their own builds. I also created the site since I'm getting old and needed some way to remember what I did and how I did it.

I really hope you all enjoy it.

    Thanks.

    Andy.

Andy, it's hard to believe that 37 members of this forum have viewed your post and haven't made any comments about your new web site. Maybe they didn't take the time to visit it. That's a shame as from what I viewed, I consider it to be a wealth of information and reference material for model builders of all skill levels. If they say a photo is worth a thousand words, it looks to me like you have contributed more than your fair share of words to this site.
I didn't get to spend much time looking through your entire site, but I'll make the journey again soon. The next time, I will be better prepared, as in a dozen donuts, some drinks, and possible a bag or two of potato chips, will be sitting next to me. I might have to tell the Mrs. that I'll possibly see her again in a couple of days ( LOL ).
You've put a FABLUOUS web site together which highlights some FABULOUS models. Keep up the great work and keep posting those " how too's", if not in words, at least in pictures.

Thank you MADD. I'm glad you like the site and really appreciate your kind words.

It's funny how when I built The Satin Doll 6 years ago the only way to keep a build journal was to paste pics into a Microsoft word document. Now I can post pictures online without ever leaving my bench as the models come together. I'm really excited about that.

Thanks again for checking it out.

    Andy.

Andy, I'd like to echo what MF said.

Its modellers like you who not only share your builds, but more importantly, share your build techniques with us. They say a picture is "worth a thousand words" but what you have done is "priceless".

    Thanks and keep it comming.

I get lots of requests for reference photos.

I'm going to add a new section to my web site called "Reference Materials" and post photos there. You will be able to use the search engine to find the photos you want by typing things like "Alfa Gas Tank" or "Rolls-Royce Firewall".

    Andy,

Great reference site of photos and builds. I was looking at the Ferarrai build and the pin hole fill of the carbon fiber body process you went through. A product you may wish to track down at a local professional body shop supplier is a primer My New Web Site... Ken - are you saying bubble gum is not a good pin hole filler? Great! NOW you tell me!

In terms of this weekend, I still haven't heard from the bike's owner (he probably forgot), but I've put a call into his office and will track him down today and get you an answer ASAP.

I've seen your work Mario and if you're a simple mortal than I don't know what I am 'cuz your stuff is incredible. Good gracious boy - it took me more time to figure out how to unpack my lathe than it took you to build a scale replica of a lathe.

I agree with what everyone has said Andy. It's people like you that make this hobby what it is, and pass their vast knowledge on to the next generation of builders.
