The condolences thread may have gone, but this superb craftsman's legacy lives on through his Complete Car Modeller Books 1 and 2 where he shared his techniques and expertise.
The Wingrove Workshop Website is still live at this point in time, so I would urge anyone to download as much as possible from it for reference material while it is still active.

My apologies if my thread has caused any confusion. I have been using a tablet that goes to the forum and I could not see the condolences header on it.

Readers may still like to take note about what I said about downloading as many pictures and information from the Wingrove Workshop website. Now that Gerald and his late wife Phyllis are sadly no longer with us it is not known now long the website will stay up and running. It depends on whether the family will keep it going as a tribute or not.

I will share with you an email recived form Jeff Potter (Geraldīs best friend):

    "Good morning Javier,

This is Jeff Potter, Gerald’s friend in Spain (Remember the Austin Healy Info you kindly sent over for me?)

Well I gather from the email you sent to Gerald’s email address you have heard of his demise.

I have been best friends with him for the last 11 years and he was like a second father to me and I like a son to him.

He asked me a long time ago if I would be the executor to his will which I felt honoured to do for him.

He passed away on February 20th and I also led the service at his funeral.

It was only a very short , no fuss funeral as per his wishes and did not want the world to know of his passing at the moment only a few people knew.

He left all his machinery and tools archives etc to me and include were his computers hence me having his email access.

His model car collection was donated to a museum in Glasgow, Scotland alongside his Falls of Clyde Ship model etc and I am currently awaiting to hear from the head of the Maritme trust to know about the opening day of the exhibition and we will fly over to see it and take some photos.

I spoke to the family about me taking on the upkeep of his website as I think it should remain “live” to give much pleasure and inspiration to everyone involved in model making. I do not think it will be updated anytime soon but I do not wish for it to be taken down.

If you need anything from me and I can help please let me know,

    Very best regards, Jeff

Thank you for sharing this with us.

I am sure that many of us are still adjusting to this sad news. I can only speak for myself, I am still saddened by it, and feel as though I had lost a friend.

    Thank you for sharing.

I need to correct one of my posts. Gerald's wife Phyllis is actually alive and well and had moved back to the UK.
