Sounds like Barnam & Bailey but I think that I am going to go with this idea.
I am just going to let it go and see what happens! Why not? I haven't seen this idea before. Most modelers would stop the process by spraying something over it. Why bother? it has a life of its own.Nothing is forever.
It kind of reminds me of the TV series "Life After Man". Believe it or not but this represents the future of all man made structures. Here's to the future!

This piece has been in storage for awhile but left open to the atmosphere.to my amazement it has continued to weather all by itself.Compare this pic with the earlier ones and you will see what I mean.
The problem is I can't really remember how I did it! I will have to go back in my notes and see if I recorded it somewhere. The other problem is,how do I stop the process ?or do I just let it go and see what happens?

For more pics see my photobucket album Diecast Weathering "My Decaying Duesy,The World's Only Living Diorama" .
Weathering "My Decaying Duesy,The World's Only Living Diorama" in real time! who would have thought this was possible. It was stored in my basement which tends to be a little more humid in the summer(I have AC even here in the GWN) and dry in the winter.

This will be its new home,an old 40's style radio.I will place a glass in front to protect it from handling as this natural weathering "My Decaying Duesy,The World's Only Living Diorama" process is very delicate to the touch. The knobs I will use for lighting, overhead,to the sides and the front all individually controllable for dramatic effect.

The back I can finish as a shadow box diorama with a picture frame kind of thing. The floor I will leave new for visual contrast between old and new.The white foam board on the sides will be replaced by mirrors. The lower part of the base I will leave for pictures of when it was new and newly weathered ,with a brief storyline. :D
    Darn,this is fun!

Actually it is a 1/18th Signature diecast.I took one apart and aged it like you see in the above pic.The natural aging took over from there.
I call it "living" because it seems to have a life of its own.

This is the original weathering "My Decaying Duesy,The World's Only Living Diorama" before nature took over.
