      Hi guys! Just joined today.I have been building 1/16th dioramas based upon the Model Airways kits for about 10 years now.They are destined for the Canada Aviation Museum this Fall.

    This model is a 1940 Ford that my father had when I was born 77 years ago.I bought it with some missing parts and had a color that I didn't like.Iwant to weather it and put it in an old 1940's radio that I have refinished.

    The base for this vignette is a plastic case made for diecasts.I got mine at Walmart.They are cheap but the plexiglass is quite clear with little distortion

    Now I take some thin veneer and glue it down with hot How I Build Dioramas. melt glue.I cut the veneer in pieces and lay it down piece by piece.I lay it down against the grain so that I can easily slip under it with the glue gun.(I have renewed my respect for craftmen that work with veneer,it is not easy to get it to lay flat)
