I think that Art Collection is now out of business. I understand that after several decades he retired and sold off most of his stock in the form of kits.

I think he had several versions available. Anyone know which Bugattis came as kits?

I have a built T35 that was curbside without the engine, but it was also missing lots of details. I bought it in the hopes of getting a kit, and then useing the engine and detail parts to make a complete model, as I had heard that the most difficult part was the assembly and painting of the body.

I eventually ended up buying a built T35 with the engine and all of the details.

So now, I will either trade the curbside version, or make it into a different version, if I can find a kit, hence the question, if anyone knows about the different versions that they made ( i.e T35A or T35B, was there ever a C? Did any of them have fenders, headlights, spare wheels etc.)

Hi.
Mr Fontenelle which is now retired hasn't sold his business, but stoped his activity.
I just gave him a phone call (i don't know him personally) and he still has some parts for t35.

If you are intereted in buying him some stuff, you can send him a mail, with a picture of the T35 without engine you have, and telling him what you want.

He may takes some time to answer you as he doesn't speak english, and needs one os his friends to translate.

Only the Bugatti type 35 (no letters behind it) was available as a kit. Road equipment was available as well. (fenders, spare wheel, lights). All Bugatti type 35, 37 and 39's could be equiped with road equipment if wished for.

Breakdown of Bugatti type 35 type numbers:

Type 35 "Grand Prix de Lyon". Very narrow radiator. 2 liter engine, unblown
Type 35 (2 liter engine, unblown)
Type 35T (enlarged engine for Targa Florio, 2.3 liter)
Type 35C (2 liter blown)
Type 35TC (2.3 liter blown, later this type was called 35B)
Type 35A (tuned down version, no roller crankshaft in 9 pieces, no 1 piece conrods, wire wheels.

Type 37: 4 cylinder, 1.5 liter
Type 37A: 4 cylinder, 1.5 liter, blown

Type 39: 8 cylinder, 1.5 liter
Type 39A: idem, blown

I'm glad you got this one Herman. I haven't got a clue as to which is which.

Differences are very minor, and it is hard to tell from the outside which is which.

The only difference between a type 35C and B for instance (exterior) is a compression plate between the motor blocks and carter.

When racing, they all look the same...

Hope that there will be a good soul to take care of M. Fontenelle's heritage. Won't be easy, but on the other hand there is a lot of large scale car enthusiasts, who is willing to pay their money (including me) for a 1/8 th scale classic car kit. Would be a pity to see another big scale kit vanishing in history.
Got some idea for the future of the ACA Bugattis :
Company: Scale Motorcars Inc.(Nassau, Bahamas)
Vice President: Dan aka Propeller (French is unbeatable in this case)
Technics and Historics: Herman (Godfather of Bugatti)

Research and development: TDR Bugattis by Art Collection Innovations

Dealers and technical support are available around the world.

Don't take me wrong...I'm just dreaming and kidding

Cheers
