I have started on my project, by doing some washing and de-chroming of parts.

The washing and de-chroming of parts has been succesful, now to decide on how to build a decent rollcage for the mini.

If I were you I would take a look at the Pro Street Vette posted several months ago. He went into detail on building the cage.

Thanks for the link Dan, just what I needed regarding the roll cage, at the moment, mine will be just a rear a rear half cage. Hopefully I will start laying down some paint on my de-chromed parts this weekend.

I was wondering what seats to use for this project, as kit only comes with standard seats.

I have bought the correct size tubing to make my roll cage out of, just got to buy the brass connectors for it, i've also painted the front bumper and grille in Matt Black, i'll post photos soon.

You're bringing back memories with that Mini. I used to have one in the mid-nineties....double SU-carbs, hot cam, RC 40 exhaust, SPAX suspension and stainless steel panels in the interior, just to mention some of the goodies. Lord, it was a blast.

Same here. Mine was a Mk1 that had had an MG1100 engine swap (done in the sixties and never freshened), rusty floors, minimal interior. It only needed everything.

On the drive home (yes I was that brave) the temp and oil gauges went in opposite directions (I'm sure you know which way), the right-front brake got so hot the drum turned blue, and the exhaust fell off. But I was hooked.
