Hi. This is my first post on the forum. I have always admired the magnificent works of Gerald Wingrove and Ken Foran, and a couple of years ago he decided to try to do this kind of model. I want to share their efforts to build a fully detailed model of Mercedes SSK in 12 scale.I started with the fact that he attempted to build this model in my favorite 43, but think about the level of detail at this scale, I was not too tough. Making the frame and rear, I gave up and moved down one level to the scale 1 / 24. At this scale, recognized by modelers around the world opportunities to order more, but of course, there are growing demands for detail. And then, when the model reached a certain level, the internal differences between the desires of my technological capabilities and again forced me to change the scale, going from 24 to 12. The first "achievement" in these photos

Wow!! The adjectives like "first rate" and "sterling" don't even begin to describe this gorgeous model. You are truly one of the masters. It's just too bad you can't hear my applause.

Result of my work. Due to the fact that I had to switch to another job, chassis Mercedes was not made until the end. There are no steering and braking traction, the front fenders and brackets footboards, spark plugs, etc. Maybe someday I will bring this work to the end. Many thanks to everyone who watched my work.

Alex, Great work and an excellent example of the details that can be achieved with brass and patience.

I look forward to seeing the continuation in the future when life settles down for you.

Keep up the great work regardless.

    Many thanks to all.
Hi, Daniel. It was a failed attempt to use brass for 43 scale. I used a sheet of 0.5mm thick brass and just bent it, adjusting the shape. I'm doing a model of Mercedes 1/43 of the resin 1/12 Mercedes SSK , the process can be found here http://www.forum.mdiecast.com/topic/14537-model-s-nulja-143-1928-mercedes-s/

This is all absolutely outstanding. Looking at your SS cabriolet, you must have the answer to a very important question.

I am working on a 1/16 SS cabriolet and have quite a bit of information, including an owner's manual with lots of diagrams.

But I can't figure out where the tubes and wires that come out of the top of the intermediate fuel tank on the firewall go. I can see that they're routed along the frame rail, but the only connection I can see is into the supercharger air box.

Do you have something I can see to understand where those lines go?
