It is not a kit. I am building this car from scrátch.

I an using the Protar kit as a model. The Protar is a 1/12 scale and my Fiat id 1/8 scale.

Hi Giovanni:
The body was made entirely with copper sheet. First I build a wood pattern of the body. I made the body in four different parts and I welded then together with silver solder. This four parts are first heat and then formed with a repousse hammer until the required shape. It is not as difficult as it seems. In the website of Gerald Wingrove is quite well detailed this process.

Is the wooden pattern male or female?
I am thinking about making some iron patterns to make multiple bodies for my 1/4 scale Flying Tea Kettle projects.
I can machine the front triangular section of the front body and also machine the radius section of the rear body. This will make it easier to form a one-piece section then hard silver solder the parts together.

Hello Giovanni:

I used a male pattern and sheet cooper in .015 thickness, tomorrow I will post a picture of the pattern I made. The first task was anneal the cooper sheet. The next task is to crimp the edge of the sheet at the places of maximum contortion until it roughly conforms to the shape required. The art here is to aim for and flatten first the outermost edge of the crimp. Bear in mind that the copper is in a very soft malleable state and that as soon as you work it with the repusse hammer, it starts to harden. The idea is to force the molecules back onto themselves, thicken the edge and shorten it. After annealing, crimping and beating several times, you wll obtain an acceptable body. At the end the four pieces were held together with some metal strips of brass and silver soldered. Finally I used (like everybody) some putty to perfect the shape.

The final task were the louvres. I used a modified can opener to cut the louvres and I used a little hammer to form the louvres. It was the most complicated task in this car.

Here is a picture of my "louverer". I used the cutter wheel for a can opener and I mounted it on the milling machine. This wheel cut the metal sheet and make the louvre shape.

For the hood louvers, I will try to cut them with the photoetching tecnich because they are too small.
