I've been asked to post some more detail of this kit so here goes:

generally fit is good, but detail is lacking in some areas and moulding is rough in some areas - heavy sprue Italeri Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza attachment points in visible areas, sink and ejector marks feature widely in visible areas that are hard to remedy.

Here is a general view of current progress:-

Here are some views of the engine:-

The radiator does have the 80° rake
I have added a fair bit of detail to the base kit,
All 'bolts' (actually indistinct plastic blobs) removed and replaced with resin Italeri Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza items
PE grill added on air intake
Laser litho banjo coupling and braided hose added
All filler caps turned from ali
core plugs and raised surrounds scratch built Italeri Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza
'springs' blow-off valves? added above supercharger
      braided ignition lines added
hose clips added from silver wire
      distributor clips added
copper wire added to inlet manifold

There was a question about fuel tank detail?

      Easily answered! there isn't any

Also engine mount detail is lacking too:-

Here's a shot of the other side of the engine:

I feel like I've given this kit a hard time, I'm enjoying building it and it bears a passing resemblance to the subject matter.
I'm by no means an expert on this vehicle either, so happy with something that looks OK.

I have threatened to turn some wire wheels for it as the kit items aren't great and I have done this before for a large scale fokker triplane, but for now I'll stick with the kit items.

I'm sure someone will produce a transkit for this soon because as a blank canvas, to my eye (with no rulers or rivet counting) it looks OK.

Thanks for your support and hope some of this is of interest.

Please forgive my sloppy out-of-practice modelling skills, first build for about three years!

      Regards,

      Nick

Yes, the vehicle isn’t based on anything real, I liked the seat in black and I like the PE Alfa logo and grill so used that rather than stencilling the bare radiator.

This build was only ever for fun and the look of the thing - sorry purists!

If I understand correctly, and according to some research, is about the same color as Red Oxide, then I get another hit for Ox Blood semi-gloss! Will look for a can of the color you have suggested. Thank you Brady

I looks great ... i have come to the conclusion there are infinite variations of the 8c Monzas ... i see little details i like ... and try to include them .. authentic ... or not. Finding actual pictures of actual cars .. on the day i not always easy!

For those in the UK, Austin-Rover Damask Red is what most of the ox-blood UK Alfas are painted with.

Some photos of various cars here to confuse the issue.

It's always hard to figure out who painted their car to be supposedly "correct" vs to the owners liking, and of course many were raced, repaired, and repainted back in the day.

Here you go ... these are a bunch of 8C pictures .. collected as i have found them and learned about what is and what is not 8c Monza .. hence some are not Monza ... but lots of detail shots of actual cars and components .... and some high detail modeled parts ... some from this site i have borrowed for reference.
I have only taken some of the photos .. and these are from youtube videos .... so no credit at all ...

I have some more ... but google managed to spread the images throughout my Google photos account in order of date taken .. not helpful with a few hundred thousand photos up there.

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/YWYFgxS7B6dWp4Pw8

This link should allow anyone to see and for others to add to the album .. and i think it gives a tag of who added the photos

    Enjoy
