        Before the Mark II was finished, I was thinking that I need some rest and maybe stopping modeling completely.
        After a few months "without", I noticed that I'm missing something. But, what to do? A new 10-years project is out of question, I need something less complex.
        After a while, it was clear that I had to do something with Cadillac. But what? The answer came rather quickly: a 1930 to 1933 Cadillac V-16 engine and frame, as a rolling frame.
        I have some contacts with people restoring the second version: 1932/33 which differs framewise from the first version 1930/31.
        I will have to do new things, like wire wheels! I searched in this forum for a tutorial, but found nothing. However , I do remember that somebody did recently (1 to 2 years) wire wheels. Can somebody tell me where to search?

      Thanks Jo, I will look at it! My fading memory was not that bad after all! Did the paint stick to the nylon wires?

      Thanks Dan for your link. I fact, I prefer your method the the one from Gerald Wingrove with a long wire stretched over the rim and hub. Good idea to use the tiny parts from Pocher! In fact, I have about 100 pieces from a previous build about 40 years ago. Are those fitting separately available? I don't see myself turning about 800 pieces!
      Another question: how do you attached the wires to the rim? Glue or solder? Or the excess length just bent?

      The paint is still on the spokes, even though I have been carrying the first wheel that I made around in my trouser pocket! (Not all the time, but when I want to show it to someone....)

      From your intro - "engine and frame, as a rolling frame." That sounds a lot like a motorcycle.

      As I have almost no knowledge in motorcycle, you must know! Maybe the words "rolling frame" is also incorrect in my case...

      Lat week, we drove about 600 miles one way to measure and take pictures from a restored 1933 Cadillac V-16 engine and frame. The problem with the fittings to the spokes is solved: there are none. The spokes are riveted to the rim and I suppose the manufacturer could do that with confidence! A bent wheel? Buy a new one!
      I have now about 250 pictures and a lot of dimensions; it was the last opportunity to do that: this week, the freshly painted body will be mated to the frame.
      I have not to order brass for the drums and hubs as well as for the frame, my own stock is exhausted!

      The wires wheels from this car are not quite done the same way as usual. The pattern at the back is different as the one at the front. By looking at both pictures, it is obvious that the distance between spokes are not all the time the same. American imprecision?
