I'm waiting to a clear sheet for completed the Bugatti...
It's time for a new challenge!
It will be of course another french car, the "Avions Voisin Record 1927".

Unfortunately, the real car has been destroyed. My basis will be a re-builded one,
with many genuine parts except the engine, the 8 cylinders has been replaced by a six cylinders.
      Take a look at:
      http://www.automobiles-voisin.fr/e_record_1927.html

So, it will be a replica of... a replica!

      This time 100% scratch built!
First steps, after lot of drawings:

And yes! No paint, no pain…

      Dan.

    Not so bad...

    In parts:

    Milling machine, lathe...

    Dan!

You are fearless! I predict that in the future, when you are showing your work to your friends, that this will be the model that will attract the most attention!

Your work throughout on all your models is tops, but this is a subject that no kit has ever been made of; it is large!; it is a Voisin!; (and his designs always challenge preconceptions); and as a subject, sculpturally speaking, it has that magic blend of large structures, and small intricate detailed assemblies, long flat graceful curves, and then pockets of interest that draw a viewer into the heart of the whole! A very photogenic rolling piece of sculpture! You honor Gabriel Voisin!

    -Don

PS: Squared exhaust are novel but not difficult, are you going to create Voisin's signature pedals? -and all those louvers! -what a nightmare!

    You are fearless!

PPS: Have you seen my experiment with the shrinking RTV Avions Voisin Record 1927 1/8 ? -It works, though I have not got it down to a science, it works. -and it lends itself to making your pedals? Assuming that you could fabricate a larger version than what you will finally need for your model? one could make an oversized pattern, it may need to be a cast resin Avions Voisin Record 1927 1/8 part that will not be affected by the solvents. (I'm guessing here, I don't know if the solvents are locked up in the RTV Avions Voisin Record 1927 1/8 matrix, or if they would attack a plastic or wax?) - or metal. make an RTV Avions Voisin Record 1927 1/8 /Solvent mold, try to keep the mold wall of a constant thickness, demold the pattern as soon as the RTV Avions Voisin Record 1927 1/8 has set up and set it aside to de-gas. It was recommended to not apply heat, but after a week, I did leave my mold in the cab of my truck for a few days. (sort of a hot Avions Voisin Record 1927 1/8 -box!)

Take note of the dimensions of your original mold box or of the RTV Avions Voisin Record 1927 1/8 right after it's set, and check on its progress every few days. It is possible that you might need to cast a part before the mold has completely shrunk. -of course if you miss that window, you might have to repeat the whole process. But once you have a casting Avions Voisin Record 1927 1/8 the right size, you can treat that as your pattern for making more pedal castings!

    -just a thought.

    -Don

Oh yeah, -Thank you for all that you show and share!

Don, you leave me speechless. Thank you very much for your very, very kind words.
I do my best to translate , to approach Gabriel Voisin's art. At the first glance, it's easy... But of course, it's not!

About the pedals, remember it's a unique record car, and fortunately for me(!) they are very simple, not the bracket...:

And I have to confess, I hate RTV Avions Voisin Record 1927 1/8 and similar materials!
Louvers. I agree, another nightmare, just another. I had the same on the Talbot, wait (more) and see...
    Thanks again Don!
