Never even heard of these until I read this thread. They sound like what a Pocher would have been if Gerald Wingrove had built it.

I now realize I should have been more specific.

I have just acquired a Fulgurex Bentley as described and as advertized in a private car magazine. It included a beautiful glass case and all the certificates.

I am very pleased with it as it is in excellent condition. It has a couple of small non visible issues. It is kit assembled but no manual- (well it is 40 years old!) but has always been kept in a case.

Do you have an assembly manual that I could buy, or you could copy for me? I have owned and assembled Fulgurex 1/32 scale live steam train models but never any of their autos. Side comment: UPS managed to crush the class case, but not the mirrored base! Wait until their inspector knocks on my door!!

I think it will be difficult. I suggest you must follow the Bentley construction by Gerald Wingorve in his website www.geraldwingrove.com
Another option is to buy an Airfix Bentley Blower model kit and try to folow the manual.

    Hello:

I have owned and restored several Fulgurex Bentleys and Mercedes.

They did not come with manuals as they were all factory assembled.

I have one that was scrapped/ cannibilized to restore 3 others, so if you need some spare parts eMail me directly at edtuler@rogers.com with photos of what is damaged and/or missing and I will see if I can help you.

You might want to look this over and see if it gives you any clues to what might be missing, though I doubt the model is quite this detailed. As for the Airfix kit, I doubt it's as detailed as the Fulgurex since it leaves out a number of components. However, you can get full instructions for free here:

I agree that the Wingrove site is a good place to study construction.

The Fulgurex model is a different car than the airfix or the wingrove.

Fulgurex made the Bentley 8 Litre, which although supercharged is different than the Wingrove and Airfix 4.5 litre blower.

In any event, I told the poster to contact me as I have 2 Fulgurex Bentleys at the moment. A mint one and a scrapped one, so I can help him get the parts and make the necessary repairs, but he has not responded.

    Hey Fellow hobbyists,

Thanks for all your suggestions on my Fulgurex Bentley the only real problems I have now are: (1) the steering box, it must have a worm gear in it but it is locked, I want to take it apart and thought the manual would help me. (2)The wheel nut on the right front wheel is not fully tightened and will not budge. I suspect it came off and the owner tried to put it back as a right hand thread not realizing that it is a left hand thread and perhaps glued (or hammered?) it on. (3)The left front wheel has the nut detached from the threaded "wing nut". I suspect it should be soldered back but with my soldering "expertise?" I would be wiser to re-attach with Locktite superglue- it will be viewed in a glass case and handled very little. I won't rolling along the street gutters as I did with toy diecasts as a lad in 1928 (and earlier) England!

By the Bye, I paid $2850 for the Bentley and mirrored case. It was supposed to be in perfect condition, all the body is, just these minor items. What fun to fix! A wonderful Fulgurex Bentley. Oh yes, I suppose I should treat the leather upholstery while it is still in excellent condition!

One last comment, I also just acquired an Airfix Bentley Blower kit. $60- a good price? Saving it for winter assembly. Now I need a 1/32 scale Airfix type B bus, I rode in them!!

I will get back to the forum quicker this time, the responses are so appreciated.

    Geoff.

    Geoff.
Not bad. This kit is getting rarer and is often at $100 or more on eBay. I think $60 is fair. Nicely detailed kit that needs more detailing for completeness and authenticity.

    To Geoff:

I have received your e-mail, but apparently I cannot reply to it via the supplied links.

    Anyway...

    1. How cool to own a Bentley Turbo R. But I can't imagine how you've managed to live so long owning one.

    2. I have been helping a friend with information on building the Airfix 4.5L Le Mans version, and I will be very happy to send you some pretty good digital files at any time. If you want them now, it may help you plan for your build.

    3. I also have massive visual digital files on the E-Type Series 1 3.8 if you or your author friend are interested - probably the largest available in a single package from a single source. Not available commercially, strictly for my personal modeling use regarding the Monogram 1/8 version. Complete owners manual, restoration log, etc., inside-out walkaround galleries of over 40 different fixed-head coupes, individual parts galleries, plus some OTS. Takes at least 3 CDs.

    Regards,

By the way, can anyone identify these parts circled on the dash of a 1929 Bentley?
