      Supported Restoration

      Hi gentlemen!
A come back... First, many thanks to ThierryD, who inspired me with his gorgeous "resurection"...It's time to me to restore and convert my old T50 to a T46 Surprofilée. Why? I do love the sensual lines and the single overhead camshaft motor of this beauty ...

      Well, found in my barn:

      Yes, some work are needed...
      Let's go!

First, the front axle, the unique Bugatti front axle.
In a bad shape now, but...

      Revisited!

Parts , on the left Pocher, the rest mine, after some work on lathe, milling machine, and so one, and some hours of course...

      Welcome Bugatti lovers!
      "Vive la marque"

      Thanks for looking,
      Dan.

    Thanks Markus, I'm less alone...

I have now to adjust the doors... And of course to do this, I must think about the locks. Fortunately, only two! And as you have seen, that doors seems as chicken coops doors rather than luxury cars doors...

    First steps:

Two parts by Pocher, cam and a part of the spring, the rest, mine...
It must be functional, of course!

    In situ...

    Have a nice modeling sunday!
    Dan.

After the locks, handles and hinges...
    And some settings, of course.

I used Pocher's hinges, not in the same way...

The interior handle is really a pure product of the 30':

    On the body...

    And the handle in detail:

Executed on my dirty, dusty, rusty Unimat 3, as me, but it works!

Hinges and lock are definitively simpler than the ones from more recent cars. Nice work anyway!

About your last photo? Did you use a steady rest or something to keep the part from deflecting while you were cutting it? -I'm not sure Unimat offered a traveling rest?

Again, very clean work! its the burden of scratch building, that no detail ever gets left behind!

    Thanks for posting! -Don

    Hi gentlemen and many thanks!

To Don, you can't use a steady rest on conical turning...

To Markus, of course we have to learn all the time. But we can see you as a teacher!

    Doors, again!
    Adjust_again_ parts added, adjust...

    Parts?
Milling machine is not so far!

    The last door is coming...
