      Hi gentlemen!
A come back... First, many thanks to ThierryD, who inspired me with his gorgeous "resurection"...It's time to me to restore and convert my old T50 to a T46 Surprofilée. Why? I do love the sensual lines and the single overhead camshaft motor of this beauty ...

      Well, found in my barn:

      Yes, some work are needed...
      Let's go!

First, the front axle, the unique Bugatti front axle.
In a bad shape now, but...

      Revisited!

Parts , on the left Pocher, the rest mine, after some work on lathe, milling machine, and so one, and some hours of course...

      Welcome Bugatti lovers!
      "Vive la marque"

      Thanks for looking,
      Dan.

I missed probably something: are you using wood for the floor?

    Hi Dan!

Your model is really looking very nice! Jean Bugatti would be pleased!

-I do have a question for you, because you know so much!, -and in general to everyone? -Do you, or does anyone, know the dimensions of the radiator cells, -the hexagonal cells?

I have been spending way too much time at my desk and desperately need to get out to my workshop!! -And knowing the dimensions, of the hexagonal radiator cells will help me get out there!

Thank you for all that you show and share!

Before painting, a bit of surgery... For the canvas roof.
It's not a sunroof! Just a trick of coachbuilders at that time... The hydraulic presses were not powerful enough.

On the milling machine, every time...

    The real thing:

Leather pieces, for the doors, inside:

    Molded leather...

    Hi Don
I went to my local motor museum today (Southwards at Otaihanga) and they have three Bugattis - a type 35 chassis, a type 46 and a type 57. The type 57 has radiator slats, but I took photos of the other two.
For scale, I measured the badge against my car key, the key is about 1.5mm longer that the badge which makes the badge 89mm plus or minus 0.5mm.

    Here's the T46

    BUGATTI T46 Surprofilée 1/8-img_1954-jpg

    And it's radiator

    BUGATTI T46 Surprofilée 1/8-img_1929-jpg

And the T35 (the badges are the same size)

    Hope that helps....

    thank you!

    - and the Type 46 radiator! is I think, the same one used on the Type 53! The car that I want to model!

2018 is turning out better than 2017!!

Thank you for the effort, and your consideration!

    -Don

I rather liked the dead flies in the T46 rad. Shows that it's being driven!
