I dont know of any build pic's from the Star of India but there are ref pics in the gallery.

As for the plating aluminum on plastic try looking into vacuum metalizing.

On a Dutch forum there is an aerospace guy sending out his parts to a metalliser, and the results are more than perfect. I will ask him where he does that.

That sure looks way better than kit chrome. He's got a good variation of metal shades which really adds realism.

As far as the polished metal look on the car, most people seem to think that a chrome paint replacement that falls just short of looking like actual chrome would be Alclad II or **** Stix.

Chrometech can do a variety of metallic finishes, from shiny chrome to aluminum, etc. At the size of the Pocher body parts, I would assume it would be much more expensive than their typical model chroming job.

PS: Why the heck do I get a flag animation when I want to put U.S.A. in the name of the company??? Here's what I get: Chrometech (waving flag animation). The name of the company is CHROMETECH U.S.A. without the periods. How can I stop this automated junk?

To elaborate on my recommendations of the type of paint to use, which would seem better to me than any kind of plating, here is a discussion on another forum. Scroll down and click on the Fotki link for a spoon test comparison.

With either paint system, do not use clear coating, as it will diminish the reflectiveness of the paint.
