I built this in the winter of '82-'83. I remember I got it for a bargain back then too. I found it at a KayBee Toy & Hobby in the mall. It had been marked down from $450 to $300. The yellow I painted it with was a GM color that was available at the time. Duplicolor touch up spray paint. It was an exact match to the pictures I had. I used wood veneer from a cigar tube on the dash. I didn't know how to do faux wood then so I left the steering wheel in plastic. I could probably do it now. Here's a few shots. I should take more pictures.
