Hi Hermann, bist mir nicht böse, wenn ich hier schreibe, habe das eben zufällig gesehen. Danke dir. Ich dachte eigentlich nicht daran.

Hello all together. This model, the Mercedes SSKL was started building about 1990. Nearly every part was/is built from scratch by me. At this time the only tools I have at hand are a jewellery saw and an electric drill and some other small staff. In the meantime I have changed my hobby to knife making (full time). Now I have a nice lathe, grinding machine, band saw, and jigsaw and so on in my shop. I need these machines for knife making (www.dell-knives.de). But a few weeks ago I have seen this stored away model (very dusty in the meantime) and I thought it is time now to finish this project. I have it new painted and all the small parts went to a professional nickel plating company. A lot of parts are still there. I hope I have this all done till end of this year.
Since I have started working on this model again I felt in new love with model cars, but I like the big scales 1:6; 1:8; 1:12. Yesterday my new toy a COBRA from GMP scale 1:12 in red arrived (from “DIECASTENVY), a really nice car.
And I ordered the CORVETTE scale 1:6 from “HIGHWAY 61” today.
I will answer any question and from time to time you may look for new pictures here: SSKL 1931 Modell - M1:4,2
    With kind regards from Germany

Outstanding work, Wolfgang. I visited your website and your knives are beautiful.

It would be great if you could post any new car pictures here as your work progresses.

PS: I am working on a 1:16 kit of the 1928 Mercedes SS Kabriolet. The engine is very similar to the SSKL except for the supercharger airbox. While I have quite a bit of reference material, I am having a hard time knowing where many tubes and wires are attached, such as throttle linkage, etc. – where they come from and where they go. Do you know of any source that may have diagrams of these parts? Your SSKL pictures are the best I've ever seen in this regard.

Ausgezeichnet!!! I love what you've done with the Mercedes. Welcome to the site. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work. It's great to have you here.

I used a book which is from 1982!!! MERCEDEDS BENZ AUTOMIBILE by Halwart Schrader.
ISBN: 3-405-12630-4. There are 4 volumes for this I have number 1 which is called "Vom 28/95 PS zum SSKL" (including the SS). But bad news it is written in German!
But a lot of nice pictures.
May be you can find it.
    Good luck
