      Hi Guys,

After a long time a started to build a Rat Rod from my Deuce.

This is my first 1/8 scale model ( I build normally 1/35) and this build is more for practise and looking for some diffecult problems for my next 1/8 model.

I doint do much on detailling on this one, thats is something for the next project :D

The wheels are a donation from "HFC" and now you can see that I used them.

What I have done sofar is; lower and chaneld the body and made a new interiour and seats.

      Any comments are welcome.

      Sorry for the bad english

I have done some work on the body the last day`s and the result that I wanted to reach didnt work and I was not happy with it at all.

The methods I use works well and I do the rest off this kind of tutorial in the hope that you can do somthing with it in a future build.

Lets start, first steal a sponge of youre girlfriend
Cot off a piece of it and use the bleu side for small chippings and the green side for bigger chippings.

Put some paint, I use acryl from Vallejo, on a peice of paper and dip the sponge in it, then remove some paint on a clean paper.
After that you use a stipling methode on youre model withe sponge, pay attention to made no streaks with the sponge.
This is the result if everthing go`s well.

Let it dry and then made a wash of the acryl paint with water, th eratio is about 95 percent water to verf, better say you are working with water with a color in it.
use a large brush dip it in the was and hold it for a moment on a towel, this is for removing the most of the wash from the brush.
You start with bringing on one layer at the time so you can control the effect and stop on time if youre are happy with the result.
This part have six layers of the wash on it and you can see the difference with the part thats not threathed.
    The wash just applyed

    The result after six layers.

After that you start with bringing on some chippings with a small brush, you start with a lighter color and then use a darker color to fill in the lights spots for some depht
The door is only done done with the light color.

After that you can use some local washes Rat Rod to blend in the colors, you need some washes Rat Rod before you reach the result that you like.

Then it must like something like this, the door doint have recieved any washes Rat Rod .

This all is just a sample whats is posseble if youre are using this methode, it thakes a lot of time but its worth.
You can also use almost every color whitout doing any damage on youre model this that you working with verry dilluted paints and that the effecs comes after a few layers.

I hopes that it is a litle clear what I try to explain to you (bad english :o)

And now the latest udate on the body :D

Yes started all over but know I`m goint to work just the other way as the above methode and I hope that this working better for me.

I'd say the only mistake you made was stealing the sponge from your girlfriend. You do great work, keep the info and photo's comming.

Beautiful work and a great tutorial at that. Keep them coming Ron. That's first rate work.

Brilliant work Ron. What an awesome project.
You can have any color you want, as long as it's black. Henry Ford
