I am tangled up trying to deal with the thin material from a vacuum formed turtle deck to modify my Big Red Rod. I didn’t understand where the proper cut should be for the best mating edge. That would probably be a topic in itself.
Anyway I am trying to fill in the curves to mate with the existing body cuves. I have Tamiya
’s
Epoxy
putty
that apparently can be smoothed by using a wet finger but I am afraid the wimpy deck might not stand up to the required pressure.
I have Squadron
Green
Putty
(interesting – open it at our 7,000 ft altitude and about an inch jumps out before you can jam the cap back on) that might work best. When I tried smoothing it with a wet finger it became very grainy. Is there a better way to smooth a curve that would allow less
sanding
on a concave surface or back in nooks and crannies?
I am not sure I can smooth the surface with any kind of sandpaer shape.
