      Howdy friends.

I tried looking around in case this has already been covered, but I came up blank. Please let me know if I just missed it somewhere... I'm just a silly NOOB!

Anyhoo - I'm thinking about cutting up the kit hood and making it functional like a real four piece hood is. Any thoughts or advice? Does anybody make piano-hinges in the right scale for this, or would I have to build my own?

I probably wouldn't try to make the hood hold-downs functional, just the hinges. Any advice would be appreciated.

      Thanks in advance.

You could use the pocher hinges. Ive got a few but they look funky from the bottom.

Making your own is easy and you get to take a trip to the local craft store.:o Find the bead isle and locate barrel beads the right size. Use a metal rod just like the door hinges and assemble to fit. Glue every other bead to the hood and alternate to the other hood. May look a little funny unpainted but once its done it'll work and function exactly like the real deal. Just make sure you get the plastic beads not the glass. :D

You might want to check Model Expo....(scale ship building) they sometimes have small brass piano type hinges in various lengths.

I wonder if they sell that at Hobby Lobby. I know they have a pretty good doll section but I never looked for hinges.

There's a company named Squadron tech request: working 4-piece hood for the 32 , they make hard ware up the """" for airplanes, both RC and the kind that glide. They have some really nice hinges, in nylon and brass. They also have hiem joints and turn buckles with miniature rod that's threaded on the ends. Lots of stuff to make suspensions out of. I prefer to go with Nancy to a beauty supply place called Ultra, they have the best selection of nail polishes. Keith 88proof.

Nah, it's never the green crayons. It's the orange ones, remember? The green ones make you sleepy. Look at what I'm talking about here. I think I need some new filters in my respirator.
