Well here goes, take a small glass jar anywhere from 2 to 4 ounce size, the less air in the jar the better. I cut up plastic sprues and pieces into small chunks. Then I fill it with the hottest laquer thinner , it's the fast drying stuff, but only put in enough to cover the plastic. Too much you just add more plastic to thicken it. Too little more thinner . The plastic will absorb the thinner meaning more will be added. Keep stirring it after it disolves, about a half a day and once you're happy with the consistancey, brush it on, let dry and sand smooth, you can sand it down with 1500 grit and polish out. It works great, sometimes reds are off a shade either way, why I don't know. Keith 88proof.

Hey Keith. I tried that method with some lacquer thinner I got at Lowe's but it must not have been hot enough. Where do I get the right stuff? Thanks in advance.

Anything an auto paint store sells, the stuff at Lowes is at a safer flash point level and it seams almost oil based, that way it's safer for the general consumer. We all had the discussion on MEK months ago, I still seen it suggested to be used in a model publication not long ago. Bad stuff. Keith 88proof.:eek:
