Here's some progress on my Model A with pix on scratch built Model A Modified 19" wheels and tires and my rendition of a Model A four-banger to which I plan on adding a Riley OHV head. The only power tool used was a Dremel Model A Modified .

There may be obvious (to Model A experts) differnces with the real thing. But with internet pix as my only source and no dimensional dwgs, I feel it's fairly close.

Looks good to me Bob...what scale are you working in? The banger will be sweet with a Riley head...keep the photos coming.

I got an old 1/8 Bobtail T glue bomb Model A Modified and thought it might be interesting to use as a basis of a copy of a suicide front end modified that I found in a book.

The Y-block from the kit might come in handy on another project given the preference of SBC's in kits over Ford engines; maybe the Big T reissue which I just bought.

I'm also working on a '34 RPU conversion of the Big Deuce. I'll post some pix when I get the time.

Wow, '34 RPU from the Big Deuce. Can't wait to see that. I was thinking of just trying to convert to a '34 roadster. The four banger looks great. What is your body going to be?

I'm using an old Bobtail T (see above). I'm taking some liberties with the body. It will be a rod style. I've done the grille shell minus grille bars, tub, hood and bed. The chassis is next. The hardest part, I think, is going to be adapting the front fenders. Let me know how you do them if you get there before me. If I can stuff it in, the engine will be an Ardun, otherwise a blown version. I will be posting the progress on the Hot Model A Modified Rods forum.

Here's a quick mock-up that might help ya with the fenders,

Just reshape the leading edge to match a '34 grille shell... sand Model A Modified 'em and replace the fender bead with some half round...should be pretty close to '34 fenders.

That's basically what I did with the rear fenders. I'll post some pix soon. I used .040 half round for the bead. I had to be careful using styrene Model A Modified cement as too much will melt this thin material very fast. (I use CA only when absolutely necessary) I used a very small brush and do very small (>1/2") at a time.

As for the front fenders, The tops of the '34 are flatter that the deuce. So they meet the hood part way up and the curves down under the grille shell as opposed to the '32 fender which meets at the frame rail next to the grille shell. Semantics perhaps, as I'm building a hot Model A Modified rod, anything goes.

This is the latest. Next is the front end, engine mounts, plumbing Model A Modified & wiring. I think your yellow and black plug wires are going to look great!

Should work perfectly. Remember to spray the wire with a little clear before you start. It makes it easier to work with. :D
