        Hi All. I haven't been on the forum all that much , but I've come to the conclusion that any problem that comes up someone can help you with it !! I have just such a problem. I've been scratchbuilding a model t coupe body out of an old BOBTAIL T junkyard I purchased on EBAY a while back. I'm using the frame ,with modifications ,plus the suspension , and pretty much all the running gear, again with modifications . My problem is I am trying to make a set of bobbed fenders like the BIG TUB uses , but I can't come up with anything the right shape or size. I took a piece of pvc pipe for a sink drain, and cut it all up and reshaped it, but again it just doesn't look right. ANY HELP ? The body is chopped and channeled over the frame to get it in the weeds. The rear tires are the big BF GOODRICH tires from the GOLDEN T , I believe, fronts are from the same kit with wheels from the EXTERMINATOR. It has a long way to go but it already has "THE LOOK ', but I want a set of fenders to finish it off. ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS 38 ply ps.       The T looks great, I can appreciate how much effort you've put into it. Do you have a photo or a sketch of what you are trying to accomplish with the fenders? I'm sure this group can help you out if you give us a little more info. ;)

      That looks like a great job. I really like the way it's turning out. I see what your problem is with the fenders. Someone here will definitely be able to help after we see the sketch. You may need to alter the turtle deck attach the fenders individually to the frame. I can see it in my minds eye. Now I'll try to get it on paper.

      Ive got the buck to do vacuum formed Tub fenders but doing them is a real pain in the butt. If thats exactly what you want Ill do a set for you... :D Daniel

      Look under Completely Off Topic/No trailer Queens Here.....If you lift the body body a bit those worked out pretty well on a 1:1 fenders build. :)

      That's it. I agree with Don on that completely. I knew I saw that design somewhere. That's how I'll be doing mine with a heavily modified coupe type body. It'll look very untraditional but that's how the rear end will look. Good field Don.

      Aw, shucks HFC.......If I didn't work on 1:1 fenders stuff I wouldn't know squat. I'm not a master modeler just an old shade tree fenders mechanic, I figure if it worked on the really big ones it should work in 1/8th. ;) It gets pretty costly when you screw up a big one.

      I know what you mean, Don. A 1:1 fenders screw up is really a mess. It's not that easy to go out and buy another one and use the old ones for parts like you do with 1/8. I'm a shade tree fenders mechanic also but my tree fenders is a Bonsai tree fenders . I think that's about 1/8 scale.

      Dan, if you want I can save you the time, I have the extra sets you sent me and since he's using wider rears he might have to splice a set or two up. There were some cracked ones but they fix real easy. Let me know and give me an address and I'll have them out on Monday, thanks. Keith 88proof. :)

      Thanks keith. I hate making those things. Like you said they crack to easily when pulling them off the buck. Resin fenders renders are on the way mid 06. Daniel

      I just recieved the fenders from Keith in todays mail. Boy Daniel I can see why making them would be a pain ! I took one and did some experimenting to make it a little "beefier", I mixed up some fiberglass resin fenders and brushed it on the inside , and it seemed to work. A couple light coats really made a difference .THANKS GUYS, ESPECIALLY KEITH. THEY ARE EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR !! Bob aka 38plymoth
