        I’m always on the lookout for different projects to scratchbuild and even different materials. I ran across these sites some time ago, this one has all kinds of drawings from car model magazines from the sixties and the shore articles that went with them:

        This site has a few nice drawings, I really like the Miller 91, just can’t figure out how to scratchbuild the tires yet:

        I always thought paper models were just goofy looking things until I ran across some really good ones that are also free. Here’s one of a Bugatti, it’s small but fairly detailed, the parts can be printed out on formal quality paper and then scanned as large as you want:

        Here’s another free one of an Austin Martin endurance racer in 1/18, the detail on his wheels is incredible for paper. More burnishing would have smoothed some of some of the parts out, but it still looks pretty good. I figured these could be used for patterns for plastic or metal.:

      This is outstanding, absolutely outstanding. I was heavily into slot racers in the middle 60's but never could afford the good stuff. I ran drag racers but I was never really good at it. I once bought a resin A couple different ideas for scratchbuilding projects body that was so heavy, my racer took more time to get to the top end than it took me to build the car in the first place. Those were great memories.

      I still have my HO scale track. I bring it out and set it up around the winter holidays so my sister's kids and I can have a riot when they come over

      I used to have an HO set up along with my brothers in the late sixties through the mid seventies. The old Thunderjets and the first AFX were fun and challenging to drive, when they put the magnets almost against the tracks, it was easier to drive but still fun, the G-plus were extremely fast but all the fun went away. You guys might like this site

      This site is in Polish there are a lot of pictures of the build so it still easy to follow and see exactly what he is doing. Even though this is a paper kit, he does a lot of scratchbuilding of the parts and I got a lot of ideas from it, I even saved all of the pictures into a Word doc in case this site goes down. For quite awhile, I had tried to figure out an easy way to do louvers, in just one picture I learned a pretty easy way to make them so they are also open.

      That build is incredible. I went through the whole thing and it was about an hour and a half after reading it that I was able to pick my jaw up off the floor. His level of detail is absolutely first rate. I really like the way he did the louvers. Thanks slingshot for posting this for all of us.
