Hey Dan. Here's what the scoop is. The upholstery tutorial took a bit of a left turn when I got to the vinyl. The results didn't come out like I wanted them to and I felt the result has got to be near perfect for a tutorial. Since April I have been working on the dang seat and cutting vinyl patterns. It got puckered here, too short there, the glue wouldn't stick and a hundred other headaches. Finally as of tonight, I got the last few details fixed and a really good result. I even worked out an easy mechanism so that the seat will fold forward and snap back to it's original position. On Tuesday, I go in for the new right hip surgery to get that new rear suspension with a couple of coil overs and I get to go back to the writing. I've got to retake the pictures so that the procedure is clearly set up so it can be duplicated hopefully be any of our members who try it. It's not a beginner's technique but it's not an advanced one anymore.

Don't forget to tell the Doc you want Teflon rather than rubber bushings on them new suspension parts so ya don't squeak when ta walk or sit down. Take care of yourself and do what 's needed to recuperate fully. No shortcuts!!!! We will all be thinking of ya. If there is anything we can do, just holler. Ted aka "fuzzy"

Thanks guys for the well wishes. I've saved up a few Rod and Customs with some of the parts I want the Doc to use. Like I said in another thread somewhere, when my doctor was a teenager, he owned a Deuce roadster and stuck a DeSoto v8 into it. He's a gearhead so I should be o.k.

Don't worry about Jeff guys.......he'll probably refuse to be put under during the surgery so that he can supervise.

I can plastic weld if the surgeon needs assistance. Jeff you got a a preference for the color of plastic for this Op?

White plastic only !!! I don't want any bleeding of the material. . I actually did ask him if he could use local anesthesia so I could watch. He just didn't want me butting in and kibitzing while he worked. At least he's going to use Moon speed parts.
