I just picked up the Autograph transkit for my Pocher F40 and I am wondering how to install the bolts in the kit.Do you chisel off the bolt head on the Pocher part and then drill a hole for the Autograph bolts/screws or just drill out the bolt? Thanks for any help - I cannot wait to start on this!
Hi Turbo,
I build the F40 with transkit and I did the following: drill a 1 mm hole by hand through the bolt head and use a sharp knife to remove the bolt head afterwards. Than drill the hole to the proper width. Be careful: the brass heads easily snap. Enjoy the build ....even in times you want to smash it in the corner of the room gringrin
I second Ton's comment and have to add, that some piece of wood, you can bite on, is more than helpful. For the F 40 it's tuscanian oak, just to keep up the style.he1he
Cheers

If only there was a way to motorize a pin drill....to give it enough torque to drill plastic but not melt it..

If only there was a way to motorize a pin drill....to give it enough torque to drill plastic but not melt it..I have two of the cheapest battery powered Dremel drills I could find, pitiful torque for normal jobs but just right for not melting plastic. They have two speeds, use the lower speed obviously.
And Xuron micro-shears work great for snipping off plastic bolt heads.
PS: I enjoyed every bit of the Autograph transkit...except for grinding out the slots in the rear of the body.

Ditto ......and the manual is a real puzzle!

Did you paint the part before drilling the hole? I can't decide on the order - paint first or drill first. I'm worried that the drill will damage any paint job I do.
First drilling ....than painting
Drilling will chip the the paint. Get it dryfitted. Correct the seams. Leave seams, where they're ought to be. Fit them parts and have a close look. Take a sharp look again and place your bolts. Like the Japanese Zen philosophy.....hands will follow mind.he1heAfter that patience rules time.
