I know that I am sceptical but dang this model looks to be very promising! I do wish there were more info available. Only two things keep me from jumping, the time line seems to me to be impossible (scepticizm) and the fact that if the better half finds out I spent ANOTHER 2k on models (Let alone on one model.) I will be sleeping out in the storage shed indefinately!
I agree it looks good but his way of doing business is rather tricky: he is selling parts without knowing if he will ever finish the whole model. And the quality of the Miura model looks good but if I see this what he sells as a Pocher transkit for the Bugatti I have my doubts

The master model look very promising, but experience told me that the master model is not the actual kit (casting, fitting of the pieces etc.)
And you buy something that for this moment don't exist, and if the steering wheel is a reference for the man's work, a have
serious doubt's about it (maybe is this an unlucky reference for the guy who made the Muira).
And if you look at the homepage of the man, the main picture is the old Renwall and Revell Ferrari 275 (body completely wrong and out of proportion)
But this all says nothing about the looks of the man's Muira, who is great.

Oh my, I guess I just bought an option for this Miura.
Shouldn't have looked the offer up after watching the 24 hours of Le Mans gringrin
A few months ago, I already posted his offer here and decided to decline after hearing the thoughts of the community. But now, I have seen his WIP pics and started thinking, this might get to be a nice kit yet. I don't care much for his time line assessment anyway, I know how the prototype business works 1confused1 But I place my trust (and my money) in this project now. I'll keep you updated how the next steps will look like and if I can find the time, I'll do a WIP of the building process.

Hello guys,
I just got the first reply after the purchase from Rossano. He wrote:
"Delivery of the kit Miura still requires some time. Look on my website the
last picture I posted of miura in Gallery Miura.
I prefer to delay delivery because 'I want to make a super detailed kit.
This is my first kit and I want to be remembered as one of the best kits
ever produced on the market.
I hope to deliver by the end of July, but I believe that deliveries will
begin by early September. I'm working on the original drawings lamborghini
and I want the model is exactly equal to the original car.
All this takes time and effort. I remind you that if you want to cancel
'order I will refund the money of the reservation.
I'm also realizing the jaguar and spider type 1/8 on a monogram. see photos
on my website."
I think it's good that he gives a more realistic time estimation right away. He also sounds earnest, but unfortunately we live in times when a man's word doesn't count much anymore. Right now, I hope he's serious about the project and pulls it through, and then I'll be happy to be a part of it.

Have you received your kit?If so, how is the quality?I'm considering to buy one but cannot find any review or comment one the web.
I am building the kit right now and can tell you that it really has an amazing amount of details. It is a pleasure to build but requires a high level of experience as each part has to be cleaned and made to fit. By the way, Rossano is a great guy who is willing to assist with all problems you encounter during the build. He is now busy developing a Ferrari 250GTO kit and I will not hesitate to order one asap !.

@Bart. Thanks for your reply. What Rossano is concerned, i have to admit that he is very correct and fast responding his emails. That is very positive. I will order the kit and keep you informed. Besides the 250 gto, he is also working on a seperate Miura engine kit. He told me that it will be available by the end of this year. Keep you informed about my order (and his delivery)

I haven't gotten mine yet, but i think he intends to send all the kits heading the United States in one batch, he said possible by
the end of October, he was waiting on some parts from one of his suppliers.
The most info and pictures are on his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Modelrossi
On another note I can't picture the size but I wonder if a running 1/8 scale engine would be possible??
When I get started on mine I will be posting pictures... he says the assembly manual has
almost 1000 step by step pictures he saved on a memory stick that comes with the kit.
[/URL]
I do not think that a running engine will be possible as most parts are made of solid resin and cast iron but nevertheless the amount of detail is amazing. I will try to post a couple of pics this weekend. Till now I have spend about 80 hours, mostly cleaning and preparing parts.
Besides the 250 gto, he is also working on a seperate Miura engine kit. He told me that it will be available by the end of this year.

They look good to me, I just turned my computer upside down...made using the touch pad a bit tricky though. I am impressed so far. I have to admit skepticism over this kit but was highly curious. The one I would be REALLY interested in is the 250GTO, seeing this actually go together and reading the critiques will go a long long way in the decision on that model!
Thanks for posting Bart!

Hello Bart , have you made any more progress?
Havent received my kit yet, hopefully soon.
No progress fot the last couple of weeks as we are in The Netherlands right now. Work wil resume beginning of next year when we are back in France. Meantime I did order lots of screws and nuts in Germany and bought some paint for the smaller parts.
The car will probably be painted light metallic blue with a cremecoloured interior and light metallic gun gray sills and wheels.

Hello everyone!
First of all, I want to stress that the following words are my own humble opinion and not intended to make the Miura kit look bad. It is quite a piece of work for one person to develop and produce something like this. If you look at the size of it, the number of parts and the different materials, I have to say that the delay in delivery is understandable and the price of it is fair, compared to e.g. Amalgam kits. As someone who has worked in professional patternmaking for quite a while and is scratchbuilding model cars, I have the highest respect for the work that went into this kit.
But...
When I finally got my kit lately, the first part I checked was the front hood, the "face" of any car and therefore maybe it's most important part. What I saw was that the mould must have been assembled in a bad way, for there was a large step at the parting line on the side of the fenders. Next I noticed some problems in symmetry, especially at the front light areas and the mountings for the wheel wells. Furthermore, if the resin is checked against the light, you can see many areas that have been filled with putty but also bubbles in the material that haven't surfaced completely. If left like that, those bubbles will most likely be visible after painting.
After checking the other parts roughly, I found that they have similar problems.
I concluded that building this kit to a model car that meets my standards would involve a lot of time and work. And in my opinion, too much of that time would have to be spent correcting and preparing the parts, something that is not acceptable for me. It might be acceptable for somebody else, and it might be even the kind of challenge somebody is looking for, and I wish those all the best with the build.
As for me, I have put it on ebay immediately for the price I paid; the offer's good until Sunday.
Sorry to hear that Michael! Did you contact Modelrossi for replacements?
I recognise the "problems" but these are not really hard to overcome with (a lot of) sanding and filling. Deformation of the resin can be corrected by heating up the parts with a hairdryer. I allready finished the rear part of the body and it not only looks good but is as smooth as it can be. I am halfway the frontend and don't see any problems there that can not be solved.
Nobody said this would be an easy build like the new Pocher kit, it is a real challenge but that is the thing that most modellers are looking for I suppose.
By the way, Rossano is very helpfull and assists with all problems you may encounter. At least that is my experience.
mad mike
12-13-13, 12:59 PM
I have contacted Rossano and asked him if he wanted to take the kit back, but he doesn't. And I don't want replacements, since I'm pretty sure that there are fundamental issues with the casting process, and there's no sense in replacing the whole kit...
All I can say is that I have made quite a few molds myself, and I would sell parts with such issues only as second-choice parts. I wouldn't want my customers having to do a lot of sanding and filling, and I expect a certain level of quality in return. Again, I have the deepest respect for Rossano because he took such a huge project on himself, and I wouldn't do that, so it's easy for me to talk like that. But hey, in this case I'm a customer after all.
in this case I'm a customer after all
Fair enough! But having enough experience with those kind of solo projects: on the end they ask to much money considering quality. Most of the time it is rough bunch of parts which need a lot to do (or replace) But also on the end you have a very rare model which gives a lot of pleasure!

12-13-13, 08:57 PM
Hello to everyone,
I respect everyone's opinion , but I want to protect my job.
it is true, the resin parts are rough . But as I have always said , this is not a Pocher kit , the kit Miura is for very experienced modelers .
All kits resin must be hewn and worked before to painting .
The resin tends to warp, but can be modeled using a simple hair dryer . In addition, the resin can not be painted immediately, it should be degreased , puttied , sanded and finally using the primer.
All of these features are included in the assembly manual on USB Key.
Who has assembled kit ABC Brianza or MG model plus, knows this problem.
Finally, we must consider that the Pocher kits are produced on an industrial scale with steel molds .
The kit Miura is completely handmade and in limited numbers. This does not allow to produce in series with steel molds .
Finally, this is a kit for real modelers , used to modify, create and implement models.
People used to assemble the kit Pocher (eg Aventador which is a very easy kit . Has a big toy ) do not have to buy the kit Miura.
Thanks
superfly
12-16-13, 07:52 PM
Ouch!...I wouldn't call Pocher's Aventador..a big toy....I would love the Miura but simply cannot afford it...i think a real modeler can take a cheap toy and modify to a stunning model..or take a glue bomb bought off e-bay for cheap and do a full restoration ....or take parts from their spare parts bin and make a cool spaceship.
Ouch!...I wouldn't call Pocher's Aventador..a big toy
I think Rossano tried to explain that building high-end kits like the Aventador and the Miura also have degrees in difficulty.
I made some good progress on the Miura kit. I am still enjoying working on this kit very much and Rossano is allways there if you have any questions. The best thing is that everything ends up fitting beter than expected but all parts really need to be worked on. Quality of the pics isn't very good but I think the general idea is there.
You did a very nice job on the engine!
Actually preparing the bodyparts took more work than the engine.... I also finished lots of the smaller parts meanwhile like the complete suspension and exhaustsystem and everything fits perfectly.
sjordan
02-14-14, 11:43 AM
The engine looks fantastic. But the razor edges on the fenders, particularly the front, look really extreme and would require a lot of work.
The "fenderedges" aren't supposed to be razorsharp. They should be very slightly rounded just as they are in the pics.

I also have the seperate engine kit.
A real shame you are selling the kit. I am in the middle of the build right now as we speak and it really is a joy to build. Parts might look a bit crude but after cleaning filling and sanding everything comes together very well !!. I dare say better than the old Pocher kits I used to build.

Hi Bart, it is not because of the quality that I sell my kit: the kit is superb. I was very enthousiastic when I bought it and I still am. The only reason is that I have other kits (Arno + L&p engine, F40 + Autograph, ...) which have my preference.

Hi Mark,
I sincerely hope that the maker is temporarily not able to produce kits!

I know he has good connections with Autograph as he was developping his next kit together with them. Autograph also had the Miuara kit for sale. Maybe you can make things work thru them ??.
There is also Some positive news on the "Miura front" , I have been working on the body for the last couple of weeks. The doors fit nicely now ( 20 hours of fidling, filling and sanding) and one side of the hood is fitting nicely also with good shutlines. The other Side is still to be worked on. I also finishend the major part of the interiorwork.

Looked around on the web, saw the Rossi demonstrating movie on you-tube ….. shape not good, has indeed big sink in fronthood, front-hinges failed during move, rear-end too low, exhaust much too low, still not found other info …. where have all those 100 SV kits + 20 SVJ kits been ... also still not build?
also nothing found anymore on Bart project, seems I have to find out myself how to build this kit good

I got ripped off. Paid the money, no kit...the seller turned to vapor.
Reminds me of Berry Manzoni and the Promocom 1/8 Ferrari 126 C2 F1 kit. Sometimes bad circumstances cripple a good project, but there are honest ways to deal with adversity (if it is indeed real) and not lie and disappear with customers' money.
