Here is another conversion I have been working on. I found this complete and running on Craigs list for $10 !! This is for a Hotrod build off on another forum. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

I converted it over to hobby grade components for better performance.

Here are the build pics and info. Once again, thanks for looking. Fell free to ask any questions or toss out some ideas on how to make it better.

Tore the chassis completely down to figure out install of parts.

I am using a Losi XXXT indy front I had for the arms and suspension. These can be found pretty cheep on ebay but any 1/8 scale buggy front end will work.

For the rear I am using a Wheely King rear axle, also found on ebay.

Transmission will be Traxxas Stampede.

Rear suspension. I used 1/4" key stock bent into a "Z" with Losi Mini shocks. I limited the travel with fuel line on the shock shafts.

Used 3" blind spot mirrors. I tried to find plastic ones to better simulate spun alum but I had no luck. If anyone needs any I have 6 more:loony . These are glass and painted alum color.

Ok, here is a short test vid, sorry, not done very well but all I have at the moment.
This was shot before the gear changes for more speed. I need to get a new vid of a scale 1/4 mile run for the contest.....need to hurry, snow coming this weekend !

Thanks Joe, they are made by Fast Lane Eztec.
No longer in production but they do pop up now and then on ebay. I picked this one up on my local Craigs list for cheap.

Darin, I was glancing thru this thread again and the blind spot mirror wheel covers caught my eye.
Just a thought for what it's worth.....the bottom of aluminum soda pop (& beer) cans would probably make for some real aluminum light weight "spun look" wheel covers. They cut easily with household scissors and are usually dished.

Current project is another hotrod, this one is a CJ2A though. Once I get some time I'll post it up on here.
