Re: Introduce Yourself

Hello all,
I was just responding to a few posts and realized I never posted an intro... so here goes.

Let me begin by apologizing in advance for my posts being long winded LOL.

My name is Brett and I've been building since I can remember. I'm now 26yrs old and I've never stopped building. I came here after purchasing some 1/8 stuff from SMC on ebay. I was formerly a "lurker" on another big scale forum, but I never felt comfortable enough with the atmosphere to post much. I feel a lot more at home here.

I'm a hot rodder in both small scale and full scale. I primarily build hot rods and street rods in 1/24 - 1/25 but I've been working quite a bit in 1/20, 1/16, 1/12, and 1/8 over the past couple years. I'm a perfectionist and start of lot, but don't finish much. I'm a scratch builder and a modifier. I have yet to find a kit that I like enough to build strait out of the box. I've bought a lot of resin casts in the past, but just recently have gotten a chance to start working with it. I'm still not sure if I completely like it.

I have 6 full scale cars worth talking about... 3 Model A's (2dr sedan, coupe, & roadster), a 55 Chevy 2dr Hardtop, a 57 Chevy 2dr Hardtop and a 48 Ford F1 truck.

I hope to make a lot of new friends, reunite with a few old ones and learn a lot... Now lets talk plastic!

Hey Brett. We're glad to have you here. It sounds like you have a fantastic collection of full size cars. I for one would love to see some pics of the collection. Don't worry about being a perfectionist. You're in very good company. Enjoy.

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hi and happy new year!
Well all I can say is that it wasn't for model building they lock me up and throw away the key. LOL! No, for real! I've been playing with cars before I could talk. I build all types of scale and subjects. Here's some of the models I built or are building or starting or finishing which ever comes first. So many projects and not enough time.
Enjoy, Rob

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hi, new guy here, my name is bill and I'm just as nuts as everyone else that
builds models. I've been building models for as long as I can remember.
I'm a 1/8 th scale muscle car addict. I'm currently building a 1/8 th 69
camaro, been scratch building it for about 12 years and still not finished.
A lot to do when you make every part from scratch. I'll try to upload some
pics once I figure it out.

Bill

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hi Rick,

If you saw Hermits post and clicked on the link you saw pretty much
everything I did so far. I'm working on the exhaust system now,
almost finished and I'm thinking of making a cross ram manifold. I'll post
some pics when finished.
