It's that time of week again. Let's see what you've been working on.
I'll post pictures later of my P-51A and A-36.

I was in Illinois yesterday, stayed where there was no internet access and I just got home so I'm going to post now instead of yesterday. I went and bought one of the Visible B17 kits so I could really show off some interior superdetailing. The kit comes with a clear left fusilage side which was molded in the same mold for the opaque part. The problem is there are so many raised panel lines, they obscure alot of the detail. Besides that, the clear plastic is too thick and a bit wavy which also distorts the detail. While I was waiting for things to set on my big T Bolt, I removed all the panel lines , thinned the plastic and repolished the clear plastic. Now you'll be able to see the detail very well. This is relatively easy to do if you know how to polish out the paint on a model car body. It's exactly the same. I sanded down the panel lines and thinned the plastic like I usually do with coarse to fine sandingsticks. After the coarse sticks, I finished the preliminary smoothing using 400 and 600 grit paper wet. Then, I used Micro mesh pads from 1800 to 12000 grit wet and finished with some Novus
scratch removers and polish (Bottle 3,2 and 1). The side was washed and air dried. This is the result.
