Happy Sunday, Happy Coca Cola 600 Day, Happy Indy 500 Day.

The weather is great, the modeling form you guys is even better. With that said, lets see what you've been up too this week.

I started a dual build of a 1/48 A-36 Apache, and a P-51A. Both are Accurate Miniatures kits and are identical with the assembly process. These are also just like the P-51 I just completed. There are very little differences between the 3.

    P-51A Mustang

    Enjoy your day

Hey Rob. How do you like those Accurate Miniature kits? I've got one of the Doolittle B25's from them and it looks pretty good. I wonder if the whole line is pretty good.

This week I've been putting together the wings on the P47. I've gotten the foiling technique down pretty well including polishing the foil until it gleams in the dark. I've been using Reynold's Wrap heavy duty and regular foil. They both work really well. Where you're going to polish the foil, the heavy duty works the best. There's less of a chance you'll cut through the foil during the polishing process. No pictures yet but then again, there's nothing really to show yet.

I've also started rescribing the panel lines on a Revell Model Sunday 5-30-10 of Germany DC3 kit. Instead of doing it in the usual C47 config with the O.D. finish, I'm going to foil it up, polish it a bit and then finish it up in the markings of a 1941 CNAC Chinese transport. This foiling technique I've been playing with really knocks the heck out of siver paint.

They're great kits. Seams are non existent, lots of detail. The only kit that tops it in my opinion is Tamiya Model Sunday 5-30-10 .
