Busy week for me. I cleaned up several models for a contest which was held yesterday.

    1/16 Sopwith Camel - 1st in class

    1/16 Wright Flyer - 2nd in class

1/25 Kodak Chevrolet Nascar - 3rd in class

1/144 Saturn V and LUT - Honorable Mention in class

I did find a little time to work on the P-51D. Started the foiling using kitchen foil. I was going to paint her, but I wasn't happy with the appearance. There's nothing like the look of real aluminum.

    Thanks for looking

    Cheers

Great work, Bob. Looks like you came home with a ton of gold there. Congrats.

I would have put the work I did on my P47 gun bays but I had to tear them apart and redo them. The instruction sheet has got the assembly order all messed up. If you follow the instructions, you run a high risk of the guns not fitting like they should. I took it all apart and did it in reverse and the result looked a lot better. I replaced the plastic gun barrels with aluminum tubing which looks way better than the original parts. Now I'm getting ready to put in all the wiring and such. Hopefully, I'll have some good pics to show next week. It just goes to show you that the more expensive the kit doesn't necessarily mean the assembly would be easier. You have to be twice as vigillant because you know there'll be problems with the cheaper kit.

The basic machine is now complete, and I'm now working on the body parts. I'll display the fairing next to the bike, I just couldn't cover up all this machinery.
