Hi all, the RC166 is starting to take shape, the little parts are coming off the toothpicks and going onto the model. Getting the chain and wheel into place took a bit of micro wrestling, fortunately the parts are of at least scale toughness and it all fit. I have to go back and shorten the rear axle bolt, it sticks out too far, and while there I will try to file the nut thinner . This is pretty much an out of the box build, but if there is one glaring shortcoming to the kit, and I'm not the first to point it out, it's the cables. At .040", they scale out to over 1/2" diameter. I checked Detail Master on line and bought their DM-1401 (.018") and DM-1420 (.025") scale automotive wire, which will give two plausible diameters of cable. I used bits of phone wire insulation and kit cable stacked and telescoped to form the ends of the plug wires, and once in place touched a droplet of clear coat to the joint to hold it together. There's a touch up bottle of 1961-67 Honda Scarlet waiting to go on, I'd forgotten how luminous that color was when new on a superhawk.

    Nice work on the bike

Here's my completed LUT with Saturn V, Apollo 13, just in time for the 40th anniversary. April 11th she lifted off. I was actually there and saw her take off. We were on our way back home to Michigan when the problems started.

    Cheers
