This is my 1:8 scale “generic” board racer, circa 1915. It started with a 1:16 plastic “Stutz Racer” back in September 2009. About that time I found Ken’s brass T and wanted to try my hand at brass so I used the Stutz as a basic pattern to upscale to 1:8. I’ve got over 600 hours in it and only have a few small details to finish. These are only a few of my pictures; you can find the rest in my gallery. Note that the gas pedal and choke work, steering and breaks work as well as all of the leather straps and buckles. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Nice job on the car. You guys and your brass...I think I'm going to try a Model T from scratch.

Here's my model Sunday pictures. My local Hobby Shop.....It burned down yesterday. Nankin Hobby was a great store.....Great people...... I hope they rebuild. Local clubs met there, slot car racing, etc....

I made a couple of changes to the B-1 by being able to have the rear ejection doors opened or closed, and I added the wing blankets.

I've been working on the 1:144 Saturn V LUT as well.

    Cheers

I just started this one last Sunday. I've worked on smoothing out some of the flashing and filling in the gaps from the body panels. I plan on combining these two kits and building a tubed back-half car. I've had the Corvette kit for about 15 years. My dad bought it in a yard sale for $2. I bought the rail a couple of weeks ago on Ebay for parts. I'm waiting for some misc stuff that I ordered to continue. I was going to paint it tonight, but it's Sunday, and the stores were closed by the time I got out. I'll try to post each Sunday with my progress.

This should just make sunday on the east coast. Here are the wheels from the Tamiya upgrade kit for the Honda RC166. They are well engineered and the machine work is very clean. These are my first experience with wire spoked wheels, so it was real encouraging that the parts fit. The assembly tool keeps everything well aligned, which is important because springing the spokes into the rim holes on the front wheel took some oomph and it all hung together. I tried the sticky stick shown in the instructions, but didn't like it and stayed with tweezers. When applying a micro dab of thick super glue to the spoke nipples after they are in place, use a wiping motion so as not to lift out the nipple, which dislodge a whole lot easier than some go in. I found that applying pressure to the spoke nipple with a fingernail while wiggling the spoke with tweezers works for the stubborn ones, the trick is to get everything lined up right to start. From here on out the RC looks pretty much like a particularly good plastic model kit. The couple of subassemblies I've stuck together fit real well and look good.
