    Its official.

We are pleased to announce the 2009 Scale Motor Cars Invitational.

The Glenmoor Gathering Concourse D' Elegance will be the location for our first physical model event. Applications to display your model are now available through the link above and will be accepted until the end of August.

If your model is chosen you'll receive a display place under the SMC tent and 4 tickets to attend the Glenmoor Gathering. You may also attend all G.G. events included with normal admission.

This years event will be strictly for fun. A snap kit build off is planned for the kids and we're working on several workshops during the show. We have room for 2 more and if you would like to host a workshop you may contact me for more information.

The event is open to all large scale models with an emphasis on Pocher and scratch built modeling. No awards to be given this year but you will be able to glimpse the 2010 trophy.

    More details to follow.

I'm definitely thinking about this one. It's not far from me at all. If I put anything in, it would be the 1/12 scale Cord if that would be acceptable.

This is a fantastic car show, I have been to it numerous times and in fact my 1962 E-type took Best in Class one year for Foreign car class. With out a doubt this show is a very high quality show on the level with Peeble Beach.

Can "works in progress" be entered? I doubt I will have my T Racer done by then but I will be there for sure.

TGG is only a couple of hours from my place in Columbus. I'd like to apply to bring The Satin Doll.

That way, when you make fun of them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes!

What's the current status of the invitations to the Glenmoor Concours? I had filled out the form but haven't heard anything yet.
    Thanks,

Ill have some better numbers for you shortly as to participants and number of models.

Just a quick breakdown, there's about 20 models scheduled to attend so far. All large scale and in a wide variety. Everything from single motor builds all the way up to Kens Model T and functional steam and gas models.

We'll have several top builders on hand and the Kids build-off is still a go.

Starting in about a week we'll be sending out all the required info to help you plan you visit.

Space is still available and we're going to keep the application up for as long as possible so if your anywhere near the event or would like to ship your model and have us display if you, then please send in your application today.
