Its a real pleasure to start off the Show with Randy Derr's 1/12th scale in progress replica of the 1966 U.S.A.C National Sprint Car Champion driven by Roger McCluskey.

This model is completly scratch built with the exception of the engine block. The frame is made from silver soldered 0.114" dia brass rod. The suspension features scratch built spherical rod ends, torsion bars, torsion bar arms made from brass and aluminum as well as many other custom photoetched pieces.

The Halibrand QC, gearbox, brake calipers, wheels and tires are resin castings made from scratch built masters. The hubs have either left or right hand threads depending on which side of the car they are on and are threaded at 96 threads per inch. The steering gear is being constructed and it will use a custom built 3-lead, left hand worm gear meshing with a 12 tooth bevel gear to obtain the 4:1 steering ratio of the prototype.

This model has been under construction for two years and it is through the co-operation of the original cars owner that makes this project possible.

Thanks for shareing your model with us Randy!!

Gord Bradley is a long time friend. He's been a street rodder and model builder most of his life. In fact, he has an amazing collection of models that numbers well into the hundreds. One day, I'm going to go over to his "room" and take some pictures that will be sure to impress everyone.

Gord has submitted two of his "Big" models and one of his bikes to our Show & Shine. There's no need for description here, the pictures speak for themselves.

    Thanks for participating Gord!

The "Jagster" is a combination of XKE Jag and 32 Ford. The Jag roof has been chopped, sectioned, narrowed and molded to the Deuce body. The body has had a wedge section taken out of the sides, the wheel wells have been moved up and tubbed, the rear fenders have been sectioned and roatated forward and the hood has been sectioned. Suspension and power will be Jag.

The Bugatti engine is the beginning of a "different" K76 build. Different, in that its all about colour. Rather than the usual, I'm going with a Guards Red and Silver engine combo and a Guards Red and Creme body along with a few detail changes just to have some fun with a Pocher model.

In preparation for finishing the Jagster, the Bugatti and starting work on a new Mad Fabricator body, I've got a bunch of cool bodies for sale. Contact me off site at <rick21142@shaw.ca> AFTER THE SHOW for details.

While it might not be the most detailed one, I finished mine!

Hey Gang, welcome to the first online international large scale model Show and Shine. Here are my entries. Unfortunately, I did not build them but I know they would be of interest to many of you.

The first die cast model is from GMP. It's a 1/12 scale 1964 289 Cobra. The features include removable wheels with knock off hubs, Laced wire wheels, opening doors and trunk with a full size spare, working front and rear suspension, turnable wheels, upholstered leather plush seats, opening gas cap, working hood locking handles, nicely done undercarriage and a fairly well plumbed engine. This is my all time favorite sports car ever made.

The second model is also made by GMP and it's the 1/6 scale blown 392 Chrysler Hemi from 1958. It's fairly well detailed and really heavy. Enjoy both models and the rest of the show.

My old pal Jim Ferris liked seeing his blue deuce so much he asked me to post pictures of two more of his builds. Some guys just can't get enough of their own stuff!

By the way, Jim is looking for top for a Big Tub. He's desperate! If you have one, Jim can be contacted at <EMOCAT1@ADELPHIA.NET>. Lets see if we can help him out.

This is a basically box stock Big Deuce. The exhaust cutouts are through the frame because the car was going to be fenderless. I scratched the nerf bars and the molding on the grill shell. The windshield is chopped. The color is "House of Kolor" Pagan Gold, with a hand painted white stripe.

One interesting fact about this car is that the tires are from what's left of an original issue Big Deuce that my dad built back in '63. Thanks for looking!
